I know it's not NFL, baseball, or hockey, but anyone following it?

Only two more years until the BCS is done away with and we go to a 4 team playoff. I wish it were here this year.

I usually watch whatever is on, but I don't follow the national stuff closely.

I watch the Washington Huskies, and sometimes the Washington State Cougars. Occasionally I'll take in some of the other PAC-12 teams now that they have their own network.

I am a huge Michigan fan and this year I am hating the team so much I can't even stand to watch them.

My K-State Wildcats are in position. They are #2 in the BCS, the leading Heisman candidate, and the leading head coach of the year candidate. Just hoping Oregon or Alabama loses.

My Golden Domers are deserving of a National title shot. They lay claim to the most difficult schedule out of all of the undefeateds.

I agree that Notre Dame deserves a shot at the title if they win out. The only problem is that so do Alabama, K-State, and Oregon. Since they can't all go, you have to start nit-picking each of the teams.

In my opinion, Oregon has a great offense and an average defense, Notre Dame has a great defense, and an average offense. Alabama and K-State are the most complete and well rounded teams. K-State scores more point per possession than any other team in the country. And the defense has shut down high powered offenses. K-State special teams are tearing it up, giving the offense a short field.

I wish the 4 team playoff was here already and we could just settle this on the field.

You have to look first to objective standards, like who went undefeated playing against the best opponents.

True, but how do you determine the best schedule? It's not objective at all. And should you take into account how the teams played against their competition? I think you are indicating in your response that you think Notre Dame had the toughest schedule. I'd say they have turned out to have a not so difficult schedule, as Michigan and Michigan State have both turned out to be not that good. But that is just my analysis. Of the schedule strengths of the big 4 I'd say Oregon has the easiest schedule, followed by Alabama but that is kinda tricky. Most of Alabama's schedule is Crap. But they do have a couple very good teams (counting the SEC Championship game), and a couple decent teams. How do you judge a schedule like that. Then Notre Dame, with KState having the most consistently challenging schedule (only one team in the Big 12 has a losing record).

Then you look at the games themselves... That's where it gets sketchy for Notre Dame. That game last week against a terrible Pitt team was awful. I've not seen a game like it in a while. Notre Dame tried over and over to give the game to Pitt, but they refused to take it (with some help from the refs of course).

Don't get the love for Oregon in the polls. Their offense is flashy, but K-State's is better. People tend to forget that both teams get a chance with the ball. A team that scores fast can be good for coming behind, but puts more pressure on the defense, which doesn't help in maintaining a lead. A good ball control offense that consistently scores can destroy teams like Oregon (see LSU vs Oregon last year).

The computers disagree.

Two things...

1) That is before the next two weeks where they play two terrible teams in BC and WF.
2) The computers also say that the Big 12 is the toughest conference in the country.

If you look at resumes blind (as this article did), then the two teams that pop out as the two with the best resumes are clearly Kansas State and Notre Dame.

That's what makes this year different then previous years with multiple undefeateds. All four teams have earned the right to play in the national championship with very solid BCS schedules. If all four win out, then two teams will have a good argument that they've been screwed out of a shot at the national championship.

And down goes Alabama. Woot!

I almost posted "I don't think anyone can beat Oregon this year', but changed my mind. I'm sure glad I didn't. :p

Doesn't help that your teams best player (Marquess Wilson) just quit (right before the game) claiming 'physical, emotional and verbal abuse' by the coaching staff...

Not any more.. K-State gets mauled by the Baylor Bears... and Stanford squeeks by Oregon...

Notre Dame is the only undefeated left standing...

Bama and ND if they both win out. Don't count out USC upsetting ND next week.

I don't pretend to understand what happened in the K-State vs Baylor game. This is a team that lost to teams K-State destroyed. I'm not surprised Baylor was able to score. We had some key injuries on our defense and Baylor has an extremely good offense.

What shocked me was our offense against their defense. Their defense has been terrible all year. Against our offense they were dominating. All year long K-State's offensive line has pushed people around. This time they couldn't pick up a 4th and 1 on 3 separate occasions. Baylor's defensive coordinator was K-State's defensive coordinator for several years back in the late 90s early 2000s...don't know if that has anything to do with it. I think it is certain that Klein is injured somehow.

Really it just defies all logic.

Notre Dame vs. Ohio State for all the marbles. (I'd be cheering for ND)
