Title track for Star Citizen can be found here. Was composed as part of the GDC announcement, but got pulled last minute for technical reasons.

Not bad.

Just over 24 hours to go, and the last stretch goal has been released...

Hit 5.5 mil, and the Bengal class Carrier will be playable on launch. O.O

Does anyone know any really rich ppl who would like to pledge a million to the cause?

As Foamy said, the campaign closes at roughly 2pm Eastern (11am Pacific) on Monday the 19th. If you're on the fence or can't decide on a ship, get a basic pledge ($35-40) and you can upgrade later with the lifetime insurance benefit.

There are some final-24-hour specials that will not be available to upgrade via pledging (they'll always be available in-game) later, though: the Cutlass (pirate-oriented 2-man fighter with tractor beams standard and boarding capacity), the Origin M50 (fast, lightly armed interceptor/courier), the MISC Starfarer (tanker hauler, largest cargo capacity of any ships detailed thus far), the two bombers (one 3-man, one 6-man, both with multiple turrets and capable of arming cap-killer torpedoes), and the Idris Corvette (smallest capital ship).

The bombers and Corvette are high ticket items, though. The tanker's quite affordable. Quite tempting incentives to throw a little more money at the project.

Currently sitting at $5 million, which means we've hit the last stretch goal I really was crossing my fingers for. Remaining lies the Bengal Carrier playable at launch, and further extensions of system count at launch.

Finally, the AI in combat. There was a bug with the speed of the weapons fire, it's much slower than it's meant to be. The video is still awesome. I love around 0:57 or so.

... and I'm officially done pledging. My wallet doesn't want to talk about the cruel, evil things I've done to it in the name of Chris Roberts' dream game.

Why must he tempts me so! I would pay $50 to upgrade my Hornet to a Gladiator, but I dunno if I can swing $150 as an add-on...I..just...don't...know...

Yeah, additional ship add-on options here at the end was definitely a shrewd incentive on their part.

I managed to talk myself out of "well, you could treat yourself to a Corvette with the money you're earning teaching evenings...", at least. And now, I can't cave even if I wanted to since they sold the limited run overnight. So I'm safe...

Where do you find the new ship information stuff?

Can you add-on a ship even if you've already upgraded so you can start with more than one ship?

Just got this in the email:

On behalf of the whole team at Cloud Imperium Games, I would like to thank you for your support with the Star Citizen pledge campaign. We have only six hours left in the campaign and it looks like we all raise over $5.5 million! We couldn't have done it without you.

If you would like to pledge at the current prices or add anything to your order, this is your last chance! (If you've been on the fence about this, we're very close to unlocking the final stretch goal at $6 million! It's also your last chance to get lifetime insurance with the ships and to lock in future upgrade pricing.)

We're humbled by the incredible response from the space sim and PC gaming communities. We're going to build an incredible game… Star Citizen will be the space sim you have always dreamed is possible. We can't wait to show you more as development progresses!

Ben Lesnick
Cloud Imperium Games

So we cannot buy add-ons or upgrade our pledge after this window is closed? I thought we by pledging could then upgrade at any time in the future. Also does just getting a ship by pledging give you unlimited insurance on it?

Elmo:

I think I just heard thru the live feed that as long as you pledged early, you can upgrade past the end of the campaign.

EDIT - Elmo, do you have a faster internet connection than I do? I pay for only the low tier DSL, currently.

If so, when the Alpha and/or Beta are released, I'd like to copy it from you rather than have to take a full day or more to DL it (Dependant on size) Ditto on the full client if nothing has changed in 2 years time.

What information, Elmo? Ship stats? They're scattered among Comm-Link updates. If you want stats from a specific ship, I can probably dig it up from my email faster than you'd browse the site at the moment, lol.

If you meant info on which ships are available as part of the final 24-hour special offers, it's:
$80 Origin M50 Courier/Racer (fast, lightly armed)
$100 Drake Cutlass pirate fighter (2-seater, comes with tractor beam standard)
$150 Anvil Gladiator bomber (2-seater, can arm torpedoes)
$175 MISC Starfarer (liquid/gas tanker, 75 ton cargo capacity)
$225 Drake Caterpillar (modular cargo hauler, 2-man, tractor beam, 20 ton cargo, more heavily armored than Freelancer)
$300 Vanduul Fighter (as seen in videos, limited to quantity of 500)
$1000 Idris Class Corvette (limited to 100 in quantity, sold out)

Yes, you can add a ship to an existing pledge. Add-ons and upgrades will be available post-campaign. Lifetime insurance for them won't be. Also, the ships I listed above will not be available as purchaseable add-ons after the campaign ends.

So how do I get lifetime insurance on my 300i?

It would suck to have my ship I paid cash for destroyed and useless.

I don't consider my home connection to be super quick foamy.

If you already pledged the "Make Mine a Double" pledge level, the 300i that comes with it is lifetime insured, and your sentiment is exactly the reason it is. In addition, anything you add to your account by pledging add-ons or additional pledge options *before* 2pm today will also be lifetime insured. After that, there will be recurring insurance costs in-game the same way there would be with ships you buy in-game. Though Chris suggested on the livecast this morning that it's likely pledged non-lifetime ships will probably come with some term of insurance pre-paid.

Okay thank you, whew.

So if I upgrade later the ship won't be insured but I'll still have the 300i with insurance because I did it before 2pm today.

I'm kinda excited about the Tablet companion app that was unlocked @ $5 million mark.

Also, I'd love to hear what they have in mind for the difficulty involved in acquiring a Bengal Carrier. Pretty sure I read it's not going to be a simple matter as they can't have a galaxy full of them.

If you add-on a ship later, you'll have an uninsured ship (that you added on), and a 300i. I *think* (but don't hold me to it, and check the info when you do) that if you upgrade the 300i to something else, the new thing will be lifetime insured (but you wouldn't have the 300i anymore, obviously).

I just added on an Aurora...rolling the dice a bit to see if upgrades on add on ships will have lifetime insurance. Over the next two years I figure I'll upgrade it to a Freelancer, and then will be covered for trade/exploration along with combat with the Hornet.

If insurance doesn't cover upgrades, the Aurora is still a better trader than the Hornet anyway.

I don't mind being wrong, here. I was pegging the campaign at around $5.4 million somewhere around the second week.

the site isn't loading well for me. These add ons. If one was to add the M50 interceptor to a hornet, is that a second ship that might not have the life-time insurance?

I believe that the add-ons have lifetime insurance. I also believe that if you upgrade your "base" ship, the upgrade will have lifetime insurance. What I'm not sure of is if upgrades to add-ons have lifetime insurance, or if you will be able to upgrade add-ons.

$6,223,353 is the count at the close of the Kickstarter campaign. The RSI site is slightly desynched, so it's still going, though.
