I perhaps was too terse. Let me provide an example. Are we all familiar with the band Rush? Geddy Lee is one of the greatest bassists of all time. As such, in most Rush songs, there is a period of time when Alex Lifeson stops playing guitar, leaving Geddy to be the only non-percussion instrument playing. This is known as a bass solo. Had someone photoshopped a picture of Han Solo with an electric bass, most people would be unable to recognize it as such, because the difference between four and six is visually indistinguishable to most. So instead we have a bass (the fish).

Yeah, not many bassists get solos. Let alone rock them out when they do.

Probably also has something to do with most bassists not being as good at Geddy, Cliff or Les.

Maybe because he was easy for Boba Fett to catch*?

* Boba really didn't do any catching. He just followed Solo and called in daddy Vader to do the heavy lifting. In fact, Boba really didn't do much in that movie except for 1. Wait in garbage. 2. Stand around looking cool.

Largemouth bass.

I kept working with the largemouth angle, and came up blank.

I thought they were going for the fishhead "It's a trap!" guy. Given that bass and bass are pronounced differently, I wouldn't get that for quite a while, either. Thanks for helping, Shuyung.

Definitely a Largemouth, yeah.

I looked at it and immediately chuckled; knowing exactly what it is...

may be because I dabble with bass myself, or may be because I like the joke...

Why doesn't Skrillex go fishing?
Because he always drops the bass...

I like to think of myself as a cunning linguist... I had something at the tip of my tongue for this. I swear I did.

So do you try to splash them, or play catch? I'm intrigued by your ideas, and would like to subscribe to your newsletter

it is kind of like carp punching... throw some popcorn on the water and then when a good four string or five string comes to the surface you punch it

Yeah, but bass tend to live in deeper water. They don't come to the surface with the higher frequency that other fish do.

That is because they know that is where the funk comes from.
