I have an open mind and no partisan affiliation, ideas fascinate me, and I understand that this is a discussion of opinions in the end. No reason why we can understand one another even though our interpretation of the facts may differ.

I was invited to participate in one of the post by post rpg's by a friend back before the social and gaming were separated. I lurked occasionally in the social board but never really felt I had much to add (did enjoy the troll wars from time to time). After the third time registering for the Glade, I figured why not make a more social oriented ID and give my .02 cents when I had them?

Thanks for asking!

Good to meet you all!

Don't let him fool you, he's an angry person just like me!

He's just more open-minded than I am, and hasn't been attacked enough to have the negative image that I do. :D

Every organization has bad seeds, especially the bigger they get.

This was my point. I wasn't trying to say anything about the Army or the Republicans in specific, I could have used Evangelicals, or Democrats (as was pointed out) for that matter. I don't think one should demonize an entire organization because you disagree with them and they have a few bad apples. That requires realism and restraint though.

It depends.

Let's say I've got a claim of negligence against a corporate entity. Can I sue a corporate entity for that negligence, or must I only file against the particular individuals?

As far as replacement government. I believe the constitution is a generally sound document and if we get back to those basics we will be fine. I'm not sure we need a "new goverment" in the style of Articles of Confederation going completely out the window and starting with a New US Consitution.

I think people haven't been holding their elected officials responsible for how they conduct themselves too many people either don't vote or just go on name recognition. I think the recent resignings are showing that people are waking up a bit.

See, I'd agree with this. If there's one or maybe a couple instances of issues, then it doesn't make sense to apply it to the entire organization.

But there have been multiple issues brought up about acorn since registering voters incidents, and at this point I feel it's appropriate to say it's the organization and not just a few bad apples.

Well, this sting op tried their tactic in 5 (?) different states and were rebuffed every single time until they finally found two people repugnant enough to bite the hook. You cast a line enough times, you'll catch a fish eventually. By the way, the article is a very clear example of Fox's media bias against liberals and for conservatives. You'll note that they lay the blame for this act on ACORN as an organization while simultaneously ignoring how many ACORN employees sent these conservative activists packing?

These people got fired. Done and done.

Yup, the links on this Glade incarnation are pretty hard to discern.

Montegue:
You just keep on defending the ACORN organization in the face of the continual illegal activities that come to light while attacking Conservatives and Republicans collectively - it keeps your reputation for blindness and hypocrisy intact.

How the **** can you justify this by repeating that ACORN said they were turned away in Philly, LA and NY? ACORN said it was "false" and "defamatory" - until the second video came out. They were obviously helped in Baltimore and DC to set up housing for teenage sex workers trafficked from Central America. "Yeah, some helped them set up their teenage sex trafficking business, but look, these others didn't!". How is that even possible to justify? SICKENING.

I would call this probable cause to look deeper in any organization. that's all I'm asking for just whoa lets take a look at things. If you want to serve the people and got nothing to hide let an unbiased third party look things over.

Why do you think the original Constitution is still valid in the face of technological and cultural progression?

Because it was written with human nature being the foremost concern, which doesn't change.

This is extremely false. "Human nature" changes quickly and suddenly due to new cultural norms... group think.

Examples:

Viking raids
Exterminating Jews
Pacifism
Hedonism
Christianity
Killing millions over abstract national borders
Table manners and tact (not expressing yourself)
Political correctness

Sovereignty is just another...

Are all these people insane?

The right has been attacking ACORN for a long time, mostly because ACORN Is a very effective advocacy group and works hard to activate voters that the right would prefer not be voting. In such a huge organization, there will always be corruption, bad employees, and problems. That doesn't make the organization a criminal organization. I didn't see you guys advocating investigations into the entire republican party when they were being indicted and falling to scandal like flies during the Bush administration, even when there *were* direct and systemic connections, like in the case of Jack Abramoff.

ACORN does a great deal of good for a great many poor people, and they help people recognize the value of their vote, and the motivate those people *to* vote. They are not some group of liberal brown shirts waiting for the go signal from their secretly fascist overlords.

So yes, when two conservatives looking for propaganda travel to state after state with a scam, eventually they are going to find someone stupid enough or corrupt enough to go along, and then they are going to blow that out of proportion with the help of their allies over at the Fair And Balanced network.

That shouldn't come as any surprise to anyone. What's sad and unfortunate is that you guys are going along with it.

None of those things demonstrate anything about human nature. They are just actions of humans. Humans are greedy, slovenly, compassionate, over-zealous, bigoted, jealous, etc.

The challenges civilization faces haven't changed since Ancient Greece and even further back as far as history has been written and since man formed civilizations. Seriously, do you even stop to think when you post?

That's funny because the protests outside AIG executives homes seems to me like a group of brown shirts that got the go from their secretly fascist overlords.
