Way to go Louisville...dominating Florida. I was so tired of hearing how the SEC was so awesome, and really it should be #1 Alabama, #2 Florida, #3 A&M, #4 LSU. Well, two of those teams have gone down, two more soon to come.

Looking forward to going to the Fiesta Bowl tomorrow. I've got tickets on the 40 yard line.

Let me know when another conference wins the BCS championship.

South Carolina beat Michigan.

Georgia beat Nebraska.

Vanderbilt beat NC State.

LSU lost to Clemson.

Florida lost to Louisville.

Mississippi State lost to Northwestern.

Ole Miss, Texas A&M, and Alabama have yet to play.

Seems to me the SEC is 3/3 right now and the only major loss was LSU's 1 point to Clemson. Florida didn't have the team to beat Lousiville. Miss State is Miss State. Ole Miss is another thrown down loss. Vanderbilt should have lost to a team that beat Florida State and didn't.

I expect Ole Miss to lose. Texas A&M and Alabama should likely win.

And Nick Saban is going for his 3rd National Title is 4 years.

9 teams in bowl games, and the only 'upset' against the SEC is a questionable call as an upset, since Clemson was arguably better than FSU.

Ole Miss will win. We have a better team than even I gave them credit for. Freeze is going to turn that team around when he gets his recruits on campus.

Florida just got beat. No question there. LSU should have won. That loss is on the coach. They were running all over Clemson the whole game and then with a 2 point lead, the ball and less than 2 minutes on the clock you decide to throw? Dumb, dumb, dumb.

Anyway, overall, the SEC is still the best football conference in the nation.

I think Ole Miss will play a better game against Pitt than Notre Dame did to be sure.

Ole Miss dominated Pitt.

No big surprises to me. Florida a bit, but they faced a very strong Cardinals team. LSU played like junk, and their coach is an idiot. Vandy didn't surprise me, as they had a good team this year. Miss St. was overrated all year. Georgia was very strong, as was TA&M. SCar was lucky, but they had a good team.

Looking forward to seeing the NCG. Two running games with strong defenses. Not sure ND can win this one, though. I think Bama has the better talent. Prediction: Bama 24 ND 17

Wait... how was that an INT? He didn't get both feet in before he landed out of bounds...

Yes, the officiating is dreadful, but ND is playing like ****.

This isn't the NFL. They only have to get one foot in bounds in order for it to be a catch.

ND has no business being on the same field with Bama.

Apparently the Nat'l Championship was really held in Atlanta.

After Alabama's first series, I do think there were a couple of calls (the catch and the penalty on the punt) that should have gone ND's way and could have helped them gain some momentum. I don't think that would have prevented the shellacking, however. Maybe just made it less egregious.

Listening to Saban after the game, he sounds like a kinda nice guy. That's always encouraging.

Saban isn't a bad dude. Just a dollar hound. When he was the coach at Michigan State, it always felt like he was just waiting for the next contract to come along.

The punt issue was explained by that ex head ref guy they go to to explain calls. Apparently if you get too close to the guy when he tries to make the catch, it's the same as running into him.

I presume this is referred to as the Steve Perry rule?

Yeah, I heard that, thought it was bullshit. The guy was 3 yards away when the fair catch hand went up (hard to say exactly how far when the guy has a full head of steam going), and then got pushed (oh, sorry, "blocked") in the back, and still did a pretty good job of not touching the guy. Just another of football's nebulous rules that make no sense.

Wow, I completely forgot that Saban was at Michigan State.

A sad day for college football, though I can't say I'm surprised. I just hoped ND would continue to surprise me as they have all season (they've looked terrible all season but always managed to win). Freaking Baylor cost K-State a National Championship, as K-State would have destroyed ND.

And Sam, Georgia was very strong? Bullshit. I watched that game. If Nebraska holds Georgia on that 4th and 3, they win. This is the same Nebraska team that let Wisconsin score 70 on them their previous game. I think it likely that Georgia would lose to Ohio State, Penn State, and Wisconsin.

As far as all the SEC "dominance"? Last year doesn't count. No other conference was allowed to compete against the SEC. The year before that against Oregon? The game was tied with 2 seconds left, and Auburn won by a field goal, and yet SEC braggarts act like it was complete dominance. The year before that? Texas' star QB got knocked out of the game by a freak injury on the 5th play from scrimmage and, as the past few years have shown, they had no one behind him. And really, expecting any backup QB to unexpectedly come in to the NC game and compete is a bit much.

This isn't to say that the SEC isn't the best conference. Much of the conference is rather poor, but the top half is excellent. But there is not the level of separation that SEC nuts try to claim. And when nearly all of them play 4 crap teams out of conference, then another 4 or 5 crap teams in conference, and then play a few games against teams with a winning record... I mean you had Miss St closing in on the top 10 after having beaten no one with a winning record. All because of that SEC logo on their uniforms. Then you hear talk about making sure that there is no limit on the number of teams from a single conference that can make it into the four team playoff, and that even four teams from the same conference can play in that playoff? Well to hell with you.

See? This is what I was talking about in my previous post. It is absolutely moronic comments like this from SEC fans and pundits that just piss me off. Yeah a Georgia team, that almost lost to a crappy Nebraska team that lost by 40 points to a 5-loss team their previous game, is the 2nd best team in the nation. It's just delusional, and absolutely typical of SEC supporters.

I completely agree with you. Everyone who payed attention this year knew that ND was not in the same league as Alabama. How they made it to #1 I'll never know, they were possibly the worst no-loss team ever. They had a ton of lucky breaks, frankly.

Only one or two of the BCS NC games have actually had the two best teams in the nation. There are half a dozen teams that would have stomped ND in a similar manner. Alabama has a great defense, but their offense was not at the same level, and they dominated ND's defense.

I'd like to see a 12 team playoff, but I'm just glad we're getting a 4 team one soon. When you have 3 teams who aren't in the top 10, and 1 that isn't even ranked in the BCS, you know it's broken.

NC game should have been Oregon vs Alabama, and it would have been good. Oh well.

You are assuming I am an SEC supporter, which I am not. I don't even watch football outside some of the bowl games. But you keep on whining like every year, if it makes you feel better about the situation! :thumbs:

Big12 = 4-5
Big10 = 2-5
SEC = 6-3
BigEast = 3-2
Pac12 = 4-3
ACC = 4-1
MAC = 2-5
CUSA = 4-1
SunBelt = 1-3
MWC = 1-4
WAC = 2-0
Indy = 1-2

Alabama would have put up 60 on Oregon. Would not have been as close of a game as people like to believe. Oregon has some great skill players but their d and o line are not in the same league as someone like Bama. I mean look what Stanford did against Oregon. Bama is much better than the tree(on that note, I think Stanford vs Bama would have been the best game..both have good defenses and focus on running the ball)
