If there is, I haven't found it. TV shows with new episodes appear (sometimes) in New Releases with new cover art or a tag line declaring they have new episodes. That's about it.

Is there a schedule out there some where saying when Netflix will have show/movie X?

If you have Netflix you can add it to your Queue and it has the release date (Even if it is not out yet). I added the Hobbit: An unexpected journey the other day lol

What bums me out is when they have a movie, and then it disappears. I watched an old Charlton Heston flick, The War Lord, but when I went to find it again, it was unavailable. Don't quite get the licensing.

The licensing is for certain contract durations. Whether or not it gets renewed and why is likely a variable matter. Sometimes, I wouldn't be surprised if Netflix decided it wasn't getting enough views to be worth renewing (at the former asking price), others, the studio probably decides it was popular enough that it needs to be licensed for more money or they want to save it/free it up for some other venture/deal.

*shrug*

If it's interesting to you, I can try to remember to ask my brother which of the above is more frequent, or if there are other situations my two scenarios don't cover that would lead to dropping a license. He works for Netflix in a department sort of tangentially adjacent to those that deal with some of the licensing stuff, so he occasionally has some insights on this sort of thing.

That'd be cool, I would be kind of interested. I didn't realize that the licenses might come with a set duration, although I guess it makes sense. In the case of this movie, I highly doubt it was too popular!

I was frustrated with Married With Children...I was going to watch from the start of the series, got to about episode 6 in the first season, went to watch the next day and it had been pulled.

They did something like this with Dexter. Only I never got to watch it, I put it in the I.Q. and it was gone two days later.

You know another one I'm waiting for? Galaxy Quest. It was the first movie I looked for when I subscribed a few years ago. I have no idea which studio made it without looking, but they must be shitheads. ;)

Huh, they signed a deal with Netflix back in 2011, going with them over HBO, apparently. Doesn't seem to have gotten us anything other than some cartoons.

OK, here's the deal:

Quote:
DreamWorks new titles will be available for streaming starting with movies released in 2013. Older movies -- including Antz, Chicken Run, Madagascar 2 and Kung Fu Panda -- will also be made available "over time."

Guess this includes Galaxy Quest. By Grabthar's Hammer!
