Lol, you are hilarious Nitefox. You are like a caricature of the typical SEC fan. That was the best Oregon team in the last decade. Better than the one that played Auburn to the last second. But Alabama would put 60 on them? Rank foolishness.
I do believe that. Oregon is all offense for the most part. Stanford, which isn't as good as Bama, held them in check. When Oregon played Auburn? Auburn had Scam Newton and a middle of the pack defense(Fairley haveing a great game doesn't change that they were pretty average on defense). Auburn didn't have much of an issue handling Oregon(by the numbers, Oregon had a better defense that year than Auburn did).
But let's talk this year. Look what Bama did to what was suppossed to be one of the best defenses in the country in ND(second behind Bama in scoring defense at 12.8 per..Bama at 10.9). If they wanted too, they could have up put up 50 on them.
Look, I may be an SEC homer but you sound like all the non-SEC homers who can't admit that their team/conference isn't as good.
Let's look at the numbers!
ND defensive splits for this year
http://www.cfbstats.com/2012/team/513/t ... split.htmlThey gave up 350 yards a game total.
Oregon
http://www.cfbstats.com/2012/team/529/t ... split.htmlGave up 374 a game
Bama
http://www.cfbstats.com/2012/team/8/tot ... split.htmlGave up 250 a game(also, Bama played one more game that ND and OR did and still gave up less total yards)
And you seriously think that Oregon would have done a better job defensivly than ND against Bama? Please tell me you really don't think that. And if you look at offense, while Oregon had more total yards than either ND or Bama, Bama gained more yards per play than either. So the area where you would think Oregon would be better, they really aren't.
And please remember, I'm an Ole Miss fan. We got beat by Bama(though I think we put up a good showing) and would most likely get trounced by ND or OR.
