Most of us had surnames for our character when we started at the Glade, but with the passing away of the EQ age, those now can be lost to the ages. I had actually forgotten mine (or even that my character had one) until I stumbled upon a very, very old post on a different message board.

Mine was "Stormseye."

What was yours?

Thunderbow. When I started playing EQ, I was still in the regular army, and my battalion was "Rolling Thunder", being an artillery unit. Since Rangers shoot bows, it was a reasonable fit. By that time, disciplines were in the game so Trueshot made it seem even better even though I was barely past 20. My first year I played an Sk on Rallos Zek and I forget his last name.

My first name was the source of all kinds of guild humor. People always abbreviated dark elf as DE, so it was tradition that if someone did that in guildchat I'd say "there's only one DE in this guild!". If I forgot, someone would usually ask if I had logged. The best one was this guy once that asked if I was mad at him. I was surprised and said no, why did he ask? He said he'd sent me four tells. I told him I'd not seen them. There was a pause, presumably while he scrolled up, then he says "I really hate that /tell DE doesn't work."

Back in the day when the rangers were having a hard time feeling good about their class due to nobody wanting to group with them in Kunark, one of the fun things I did to cheer people up as I approached level 20 was to create a thread and ask for ideas for a last name. There were many good ones from "Gnomepunter" to "Mebig." Ultimately, because of the good folks I met in the glade and whom welcomed one not of their ranks, I decided to not go with any of the suggestions and went with one of my own:

Rangerfriend

If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it must be a cow.

Edit:

Forgot to mention my surname. Turris.

Stumpjumper. For the model of bike that I ride, and the stumps north of Kelethin.

My Troll SK's surname was Soulraker.

Lydiaa never had a surname of her own. She usually took the name of the man she was with...

It was Stormborne, Darkchylde and Winterhaven.

Currently it's my RL partner's EQ char name, Nettle

My guildmates joked they could hide from the rain by getting the whole guild under my name.

Lonedar has always been just such, but I did toy with the idea of Shmonedar.
