I'm not sure it worked the other way around:

Whatever. I love this weather. Yesterday, we had 15 minutes of flurries in 20 degree weather. It was bone dry snow, and the standard gusting breezes for the Midwest. I was out driving immediately afterwards -- I love the way dry snow blows around on roads and catches and highlights all the eddies in a wispy, breezy cloud.

Yeah, I know what you guys mean. Temperatures here have plummeted down to the lower 60s here this evening. I was slightly chilly when I went outside just now.

I know right! I totally considered adding a base layer before I got on the bike today...

I'm amused that down here I can wear just a regular set of clothing when everyone else is putting on jackets, hats, and gloves.

We had 7 on the mercury. -10 with the wind chill. It was fun, today it is less fun since it appears to be too cold for the salt to actually work.

Was 2 out this morning when I went into work. 2 as in 1 and then you're there.

Mussolini. Fascist party headquarters in the run-up to an election, early 1930s, I think.

It was in the 80s low yesterday. Of course, we had a cold snap last week - apparently Jimmy Kimmel made fun of Angelenos for their overreaction. But, hey, most of our houses aren't insulated for **** (heck, our first two houses didn't have a furnace).

But it did get down to 35 up here, very cold for us.

What about AC? If your house isn't well insulated, how do you keep the heat out and the cool air in?

My house is not insulated either. They just didn't do that back in "the day". The air trapped between the plaster and boards suffice (they don't).

Keeping a house cool is less about insulation, and more about losing heat.

High ceilings keep the relatively warmer air away from humans. Large, pronounced ridge vents let enormous amounts of hot air escape through the attic. Flat, open floor plans (instead of a cube-shaped multi-level house centered around a furnace) allow for circulation, and circulation makes people feel cooler by evaporating perspiration.
