Inevitable rock remix:

Obviously I was not the only one that knew this song rocked, there are a ton of remixes on youtube.

Holy crap, there's a band that released an entire album of NES cover tunes with real instruments? Why do I not know about this years ago? Internet, you have failed me.

The Advantage, Elf-Titled. (It's on Mog).

Yes, please.

Also the Advantage (along with other nintendo cover artists) did some of the music for 749 nes games in 15 minutes which if you missed the first time it was posted here, shame on you. Also if you didn't miss it, I promise you it's still awesome, and I'm still amazed that you can fit that much nostalgia into 15 mintues.

I saw this news yesterday. Great stuff. I loved the original NES game. Simple, short, but very fun.

Best part about this remake? They have gotten all, repeat, ALL the original voice actors to reprise their roles. Including 93 year-old Alan "Scrooge" Young!

That alone is worth my money.

Edit: Oh and Darkroland, please tell me you've at least heard of The Minibosses? If not, please look into them. They have been doing nothing but 8-bit NES covers with real instruments for well over a decade. They are excellent!

Them I had heard of, many years back. Surprised they're still playing, go Minibosses!

I'm a little worried about Mr. Young's reprisal. The snippet or two that I've heard lacks the vibrancy he used to have with Scrooge. Which is fair, as he's 93 years old and he was a mere schoolboy of 67 when DuckTales premiered, but still.

You're not. I had several instances of "oh...so *that's* what he's saying." :D

I'll take a lesser quality Authentic Scrooge over a mimicked Scrooge any day of the week.

Edit: You can tell he's not in his prime, but there is absolutely no mistaking that's Scrooge. Far better than the best impression I've ever heard. I'm stoked.

Yep. I still don't know WTF a "duck blur" is.

Some of the lyrics are kind of creepy in the context of a childrens' show, too. "Danger, watch behind you / There's a stranger out to find you"?

Stranger danger!

Edit:

Today I learned: Scrooge McDuck = Wilbur from Mr. Ed :psyduck:

Personally I don't think I would have considered Alan "off" in the slightest if FarSky hadn't put the idea in my head to consider it, but then I'm no audiophile either.

I preferred the Darkwing Duck game to Ducktales...

Might almost pull my NES out and replay that...

<3 Darkwing Duck. I'd love a remake of that one, too.
