My Guess: One of his engineering students appears to have passed a test with a perfect mark. Corolinth is extrapolating that at least one engineer who may in the future design cars/airplanes/bridges/etc. might be competent.

My guess: There was a seizure-like (or concussive/blackout) event 6 months ago, and Coro's passed the no-drive limit and some cognitive-type testing.

It's his first semester on the Wash U. side of the program. I think he has another two years left before he's finished. The guy did pretty good in his math course, and was pretty focused in the circuit analysis course he was taking, despite that course being outside his discipline.
