Not a criticism of the movie itself, which was well done (other than being terribly historically inaccurate), but more that I hate how watching that movie makes me feel. I don't like the story at all, the movie loses me early on and gets progressively worse (although many of the battles cheer it up a bit. I particularly liked the Irish charge...)

So... just so I'm clear.... you don't like Braveheart, a blockbuster action/drama movie, because it's historically inaccurate?

You must not like 99.7% of the movies you watch. It is ok to turn off your brain and enjoy a movie just because it's a movie, just so you know.

No, i mentioned that merely as a side point. I don't like Braveheart, as I said above, because of how it makes me feel. I hated every second of watching it, apart from a few bright points around the battles. From the moment they slit Murron's throat, right up until his loss and torture/execution, I wanted to look away and watch something else. I did not enjoy the movie.

Well, if you didn't like the movie because it made you feel uncomfortable, I can understand that. There's several movies that fall into that category for me. I think most people are flabbergasted at the idea that someone didn't like the movie based on the story and how it was told (I especially enjoy the dichotomy between the leprous Bruce and Longshanks). But, even then, I get the same reaction when I give my opinion of Blade Runner or The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly.

Worse than epic fail. Jesus Christ. I had high hopes for this movie, but I don't think I could take it seriously with him as Bilbo.
