I think my Yanks will have a tough time getting to the post season this year. I hope they do, if for no other reason than to see Mariano go out on top.

My non-bias forecast this early in the season:
AL E- Toronto
AL C- Detroit
AL W- LAA
WC's- Balt & Tex

NL E- DC
NL C- Cincy
NL W- LAD
WC's- Atl & StL

I don't really do post season predictions, because anything can happen in 5 to 7 game series. It's a crap shoot.

Blue Jays are actually favored to win the AL East, for the first time in a long time. (It will be 20 years this October since Joe Carter's walk-off home run vs. the Phillies).

However, the AL East is the toughest, most unforgiving division in baseball, so I take nothing as a given!

2012 NL Cy Young winner and the only knuckleballer in baseball starts off the season for Toronto tonight. I need to find a live bootleg stream. I don't have cable/satellite and MLB's internet viewing package is blocked in Canada...

Bolded mine.

This year, I disagree.

Every single team is terribly flawed, and none approaches the top tier of teams as the season begins.

The Yankees are a shell of their former selves. Old, injured, and inconsistent.

The Red Sox are in a top-shelf rebuild, and while they do have enough young talent to surprise, they also shopuldn't be expected to win more than 86 games.

The Jays look fantastic on paper, but it remains to be seen how this team comes together under new managment.

The Rays have what may be the best rotation in baseball coupled with what may be the worst lineup. How will that play out?

The O's are unlikely to win the 19 one-run games that gave them the edge they needed last season again.

That's it, i'm going to follow only hockey until the playoffs are over and hope the jays are firing on all cylinders by then.

Oh, sweetie, don't let anything this early fool ya! April is hardly ever a make-or-break month for most teams. Only those teams with little talent that start out slow (Houston) are in deep trouble. Teams like the J's with a lot of talent, can take a while to kick start.

I fully expect this year to be a real nail biter for the East. All 5 teams can win this thing. There is no way the J's will be outta it before AS break imho. Gotta give these new faces time to gel. Don't expect Dickie to be the same pitcher as he was last season. He'll give you some wins, but he won't dominate this division. Your real ace is likely Johnson. That guy can be down right nasty if he can stay healthy.

You guys will do quite well this year, trust me.

Oh I know, but my NHL team is competing for first in the eastern conference (after a last place finish in 2012) and looks like they're made for the playoffs. Maybe by the time the NHL playoffs are done, the Jays will be pushing for first place.

Wow, what a crazy season so far...

Carlos Quentin breaks Zack Greinke's collar bone when rushing the mound after being hit by a pitch. Greinke will miss 8 weeks after the surgery. Carlos Quentin is facing an 8 game suspension. MLB is supposedly investigating an altercation between Quentin and Matt Kemp after the game. It was broken up by park security and the local police before it escalated. That series is going to be interesting to watch the rest of the season.

The Blue Jays lost Jose Reyes to a serious ankle injury. Reports are preliminary, but it sounds like he will need surgery and will be out up to 3 months.

The Mariners lost two outfielders in two games. Michael Saunders injured his shoulder crashing the wall and may need surgery. Micheal Morse was hit on the hand and suffered a broken finger. This is two of the teams best hitters. Hopefully they wont miss much time.

And then there is this Biogenesis thing going on. The NYTimes is reporting that the company was selling their medical records as baseball memorabilia, and sold some of it to Alex Rodriguez representatives. This is going to get ugly.

Go Braves.

Gattis is my new hero. Pizza flipper, ski-lift operator, janitor...pro baseball catcher. He is, El Oso Blanco.

Going to be interesting when McCann comes back.

I will say this. While it hasn't been all sun shine and roses here in Detroit. I am loving the addition of Mr. Hunter.

Yeah, Hunter is fun. It's really too bad for the Angels that they have a glut of outfielders. Frankly, I can't see that I'd rather have Hamilton than Hunter, although I know all about the stats, etc. You'd think they could have kept Hunter (cheaply!), and picked up another starting pitcher.

5 games. We've lost 5 games since you posted this, and April is STILL not over.

I am very displeased with you, Mr. Fox.

Only 5 games out of the 30 or so they've played in April? That's pretty good.

It's April; what kind of Braves fan lauds our team in April? Do you not understand the heresy you're committing?

And the hits keep on coming for my Yanks. Cervelli out for at least 6 weeks with a broken hand. Nova (who was pitching like crap anyways) also left the game with elbow soreness and likely headed to the DL as well.

So, ARod, Jeter, Granderson, Tex, Cervelli, Nova.................and yet they keep winning somehow.

Catching, foul tip, hits hand. Baseballs travelling near 100mph can break bones.
