Waiting for a concert to start that the choir I'm in is singing in and someone starts playing Bohemian Rhapsody and everyone starts singing it.

Person: Wow, that's a nice song, what's it called?
Me: *shocked face* Um, it's Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen.
Person: Oh, did they take a classical song and give it modern words?
Me: No, that's just its name. It was written by Queen in the 70s.

WTF?

Well, wait ... how old was the person unfamiliar with Bohemian Rhapsody?

Freddie's Song. Just not the same without him singing lead.

Dang yes, I'm feeling old.

Oh yeah, I should have been more clear. The choir I'm in was singing a joint concert with a high school choir. The high school kids were all singing along and knew all the words.

Odd, but perhaps the person in question was a disco enthusiast and missed Bohemian Rhapsody the first time. And then never saw Wayne's World.

Perhaps this is like a year or two when Kate was suddenly shocked and appalled to find that rap lyrics contained explicit references to sexual activity, drugs, and violence.

Unless Marc Martel is singing lead. Then it's exactly like Freddie.

Thanks to the goddamn religious ****, I heard this song maybe twice before it was pulled from the air back in the mid 70's (I was like 9 years old). I didn't get to hear it again until it aired on MTv in the 80's, because the **** goddamn religious **** kept it banned from airing on the wonderful **** piece of **** AM radio that was all we had to listen to back then (FM was in it's birth and only played late nights and on weekends, full albums, one station).

So yeah.....thanks for getting me pissed off at remembering the goddamn **** **** of the 70's......*******! @%@#$!@^!#$@!#%

(I came back to add- this post is a lot of hyperbole and not meant to offend the OP, just in case there was confusion) ;)
