Once again, I'm getting jerked around at work. We had a mini-reorganization when the overall leadership for my dept changed. Half of my group went with my now former manager, half want to my previous manager. I'm now reporting through her to the woman who almost made me take the separation package instead of transferring to NJ. That person is also the same one that my now-former manager almost made a formal HR complaint against on my behalf for bullying behavior. (Thank goodness I asked her not to rock the boat and to just let it slide! I'd only told her in the first place to cover my *** if it ever came up.) She and I have VERY different ways of working, and they are frequently not compatible. I just can't figure out what she wants through the bullshit and jargon.

Apparently, there was a meeting yesterday, and my group has now been pulled completely off of part of our work, and now we get to support two Boston sites as well as our own. We'll be handling all reporting instead of being involved in the higher profile dossiers. This after I just busted my *** for months on a submission document, meaning I get to hand it off to someone else to put the cherry on top & take all of the credit.

So, once again, we have no true advancement, and they won't let us take on more responsibility now (despite a bunch of Lean Six Sigma and project management training for that purpose) because they don't have anyone else left to do the grunt work. (We've had 2 site closures and multiple rounds of layoffs since 2010.) They have nearly hit the point of not having anyone able to take over work if someone leaves.

So because I am rapidly running out of **** to give, I'm hoping to get into a job sharing program onsite where I can cross-train in Regulatory Affairs. Then I'll have the last piece of experience needed to jump ship into something more fulfilling and with more of a future. I'm waiting for my new-old manager to meet with them and HR and figure out how it all works. I've been with the company for 15 years this August, and I was hoping to ride it out because the pay & benefits are still pretty good, but I either need to get out of this dept or switch companies. (Headhunters keep bugging me. So I have experience and skills that could be in demand.)

Oh, and I found this out after I got an email this morning that a friend has now started hospice care. So it's been a fun day all around. I think some booze is in my future for tonight.

I am sorry, sounds like my job lately :( Except that my manager, who is new to our division, assigns me to projects, goes behind my back to do it and passes the blame to me when she fails.

At this point I am tempted to become a park ranger or go crab fishing in Alaska.

I found out yesterday that I'll be moving under a new tech lead at the end of the month. This tech lead has psychopathic tendencies IMO. I've seen her publicly humiliate people in meetings and you can tell it is one of her favorite things about her job. You can see the absolute glee in her face as she rips into them.

But wait. There's more.

Now the prior manager and the current managers are fighting over what work we'll be doing. Office politics are grand!
