I have doubts that the Kinect stuff will work flawlessly in a darkened theatre. Though as long as the controller works, that's not an issue.

It looks bloody amazing in the demo on the Wired article.

Edit: Share link removed. Seriously people, just use youtube and not your own stupid video solution that sucks.

Have you watched the videos? Seems pretty damn flexible to me. You aren't getting a middle ground, you're getting the most comprehensive voice/motion control available and a controller that can do everything just as well.

I watched one. It looks no different to me than the current stuff.

I'm getting the most comprehensive available. What I'm saying is that I only want the controller until actually good technology becomes available. We just differ on what we call "good."

You think this fits the definition. I don't. And all I'm saying is that, as long as I can still use that controller, I'm down. If I can't, no sale.

From that video I posted, it will. It has super night vision camera awesomeness.

The last time I looked into it (right after I got my Kinect sensor), you couldn't turn off the Xbox with the Kinect. This article confirms that behavior. However, when I look at this page, it seems they added support for it. However, saying "Xbox settings <pause> turn off <pause> yes" seems a lot more work than "Xbox off!" I'd need to try it tonight when I get home from work.

I can't speak to that. I can only speak to the anger on my friend's face when it happened.

This works - we use it all the time. The Kinect has been very handy to control Netflix when dealing with my son. When he gets into trouble, we can pause his show verbally while already moving to correct his behavior. It's also handy not to have to dig out a controller as we're getting ready to leave and it's not a hassle to say a couple extra commands. The dang thing already pauses video too often for my taste. The last thing I want it doing is shutting off because it thinks I said "Xbox shutdown."

Retailer preorder leak puts the X1 price at £399, which means they'll probably go with $599 for the US launch.

600 bucks *seems* a bit pricy, but I dunno. Its a hell of a thing.

I'd prefer 3/499. But I'll go at 599. But that's about the top end for what I'd want to outlay.

I'm not sure that's a valid price point for this economy.

Skee, your troubles are slightly alleviated: "Watch movies and play games in stunning HD with a Blu-ray player." straight from the official site.

Well, can't be too upset with them for ending with the most popular video game franchise of the last generation. Not my cup of tea but I get it.

Call Of Doggy: Ghosts.

I'm not a CoD fan by *any* stretch of the imagination, but this... intrigues me. Not the dog, but the story/world. I'm hoping the single player isn't like 3 hours long.

There is supposed to be an ME 4 coming. And a Halo 5. Both of which would have been better reveals than another CoD.

But that's just me I guess. I would have liked to have seen more games coming.

Guess we'll have to wait till E3 for all of that.

Goomh. I hear rumors of a discounted bundle if you reup XBL accounts though, hoping that comes true.

Unless it's clever wordplay. "Watch movies and play games in stunning HD with (alongside) a Blu-ray player."

I'd bet they'd get hammered over that though. So I will give them the benefit of the doubt.

As for me, I can't stand PS controllers nor do I care for much of their exclusive games. So that starts to lean me towards the XB camp. But, I will wait and see. I will let the dust settle as I always do.

I've never early-adopted a game console in the history of game consoles.

Oh, also. "Haptic feedback on the triggers. That could be cool. Playing sniper or modeling actual trigger pull on a rifle etc.

Or like the select fire on a Steyr AUG. Pull a little bit for single, and alltheway for Full Auto.

Its a little thing, but I like it.

The only PS3 exclusive that I was "Ooh! I wanna play *THAT*" was the Uncharted series.

Not enough to get me to buy a whole system.
