I'm in the "genetically predisposed to think it tastes like soapy crap" camp.

I use the hell out of this stuff. You can't make Pico de Gallo without it. It tastes nothing like soap.

Yes. Yes it does.

It tastes nothing like soap *to you*. To me, there is a distinct aftertaste of dish soap.

I suggest buying a less delicious brand of dish soap, and perhaps try rinsing your plates a bit better.

Heh.

Weird that I'm in the soapy minority here.

Although, the numbers are only 13% or so for Northern European Cilantro Soap receptors. So, I guess that makes sense.

Why would you ruin a good margarita with any of that?

Philistine :p

Because unlike you, we have taste buds that work.

Flavorist.

Oddly enough, I like peppers and chilis and stuff... but I'm not a fan of jalapenos.

Quadruple this!

I have a pot of cilantro growing on my patio right this minute, along with basil, parsley, rosemary, thyme, oregano, chives, sage, radishes, carrots, tomatoes, bell peppers, zucchini, blueberries, and mesclun mix. I should have planted a serrano but ran out of room for more pots. Maybe next year when we get rid of the old shed and make more room on the patio. :D

Not at all! I had enchiladas for dinner tonight even. They were delicious.

Also, huge fan of tequila. Serranos, ancho, chipotle all awesome peppers.

Cilantro = Soap ;)

I was previously unaware of this phenomenon. I certainly don't have anything against cilantro or had I ever met anyone who thought it tasted like soap before this. I guess I should be thankful.

Uh, isn't 'Chipotle' just a term for a 'smoked' jalapeno pepper?

Sure, but I assume Müs is saying he doesn't like the unripe and more common green ones. Chipotle chiles are made from red jalapeños, which are different enough from green by themselves, but toss in the smoke and you might as well call it a different kind of pepper altogether... which we do :)

So, what happens when you eat asparagus?

And, is your ear wax sticky and voluminous? Or, dry and sparse?

Would be interesting to see what kind of correlations there are. Wonder if I could get a Kickstarter out of this ...
