According to IGN, Khross may well have been 100% correct on this one:

http://news.yahoo.com/sony-reportedly-h ... 57921.html
Quote:
Sony has been very eager to capitalize on the multiple mistakes Microsoft made in rolling out the Xbox One and now a new report from IGN suggests that Sony’s plans to stick a shiv into Microsoft may have been in the works for months. Unnamed sources tell IGN that Sony decided to scrap plans to require gamers to buy a PlayStation Eye sensor long before it unveiled pricing information at E3 in June. Ditching the Kinect-like PlayStation Eye let Sony knock a full $100 off the price tag for its next-generation console. More crucially, Sony also didn’t tell any of its partners about plans for a price cut to keep Microsoft in the dark. The result was that Sony earned the good will of many gamers by offering a lower-cost console that didn’t have any of the controversial DRM restrictions that Microsoft last week removed after weeks of intense criticism.

Yeah, it's obvious that they were planning on launching with the camera bundled by all of the time they spent on motion controls during the initial announcement.

This is what happens when you're not the one to show all of your cards first.

Word on the street is that Mattrick jumped to Zynga. I always thought rats fled sinking ships, not jumped on them...

Well he poked some holes in the Xbox boat, maybe he's going to Zynga so he can snap the boat in half and send it once and for all to its watery grave.

Do you think Zynga charges it employees microfees? Like .99 per day to rent a chair?

Yup, confirmed: Mattrick is now the CEO of Zynga.

Edit: Ha! The first comment: "Every once in a while, I like to leap off of a burning building and then onto another, smaller burning building. Keeps the blood flowing."

"Here at Zynga, we like for you to enjoy lunch. So we'll be mandatorily selling you 50 chiptickets per month. Each of those tickets can be turned in in groups of 15 to earn .2 sandwichbucks. In turn, sandwichbucks have a conversion rate of .7 to drinkfunsies. Additional tickets can be purchased with your paycheck, employees are not allowed to leave the campus for lunch and no outside food or drink is allowed onsite. GOOD LUCK BUYING ONE LUNCH AND HAVING ANY PAYCHECK LEFT *****"

Before the end of this summer, a new deal between Time Warner Cable and Microsoft will allow Time Warner’s customers and Xbox Live Gold members to view up to 300 live TV channels through their Xbox 360, and later the Xbox One.

Now we are seeing the first steps of that function happening here in S.A. and other TWC markets, only first with the Xbox 360., and probably the Xbox One after it releases in November. Available channels depend on the market and each customer’s subscription package.

Seems like some people may be able to get rid of their cable boxes after all?

While you might be able to get rid of the box itself, you still have to subscribe to Time Warner. Verizon has that deal with the xbox currently, I can stream verizon fios channels on the xbox, but only with an active verizon cable account. I tried it once, the quality wasn't as good as my high def cable box, and no DVR features, so it was a no-go.

The Xbox 360 can also be used as a receiver for AT&T U-Verse.

Now it's starting to look like they're getting desperate:

http://www.extremetech.com/gaming/161094-microsoft-may-be-upgrading-the-specs-of-the-xbox-one-before-its-release

Quote:
The Examiner is reporting that a source claims the Xbox One’s GPU will get a bump in clock speed, and the 8GB of DDR3 RAM will increase to 12GB. Additionally, the Xbone development team is asking designers what other changes to the console they’d like to see — which comes off as a little desperate, especially considering the hardware is supposed to release in around four months.

As I pointed out with the PS4 discussion a few pages back, that's irrelevant as we don't know how many units either company are making/claiming available.

Irrelevant, if you're sold out you aren't desparate.

I have a feeling Sony oversold again but I hope not.

Unless you artificially limit launch consoles to drive demand. OMGZOR YOU HAS TO QUEUE. 2 weeks later, once press has died down, 400 units on every shelf.

Nice to know the smear campaign is going on. Wonder how much that had to do with Kensington's parent company ACCO Brands having their exclusive office supply contracts renewed by SCEA.

Wall Street analysts (link above picture) arr predicting Xbox One will outsells PS4 by 2 or 3 times this holiday.
