I recently finally understood why so much effort has gone to demonizing and ridiculing the Tea Party grassroots movement. It seems that there's a legitimate possibility that it may subvert the Republican Party, if recent generic congressional election polls from Rasmussen are to be extrapolated from.

With that in mind, it suddenly becomes clear why the far left feels so threatened.

Monte's got his panties in a wad because Laura Inghram paraphrased the "First they came for the rich, and I did not speak out..." quote to frame it around an anti-taxation message.

Is Stewart getting wacko? I'd rather he get a clue, myself.

I gotta say, I never turn off the radio so much as when Laura Ingraham's program is on it. She sometimes has some good bits, but she makes some really petty arguments.

Radio personalities using hyperbole? Protest speakers using hyperbole? Color me shocked.

Definitely not classy, but I think classy, reasonable, uninflamed arguments are the last thing I expect out of these people.

The tea party will subvert the Republican party to about the same extent that the Green party has subverted the Democratic party.

Enough to sway an election here and there, maybe grab a seat or three, but not enough to make either of the major parties declare victory in a confident manner.

I used to really enjoy the daily show. Once upon a time you could see his slight bias, but for the most part he was pretty fair on both sides.

He stills goes after both sides to some extent, but over the last couple years the bias on the show has become decidedly worse. It's like he throws softies at the left compared to how he goes after the right sometimes.
