My third printing TR3025 is from May 1987. I'm not sure how the first few printings were spaced. Probably the first printing was somewhere in 1986.

Of course, by way of comparison...

You must be repressing 80's outfits in your memory.

And here come the Victors ...

No that's not the name of a new breakfast meal, though it is good news! It means the Victor VTR-9K, VTR-9B, VTR-9S are available now for purchase!

NOTE: Until the 16th of July, these regular Victor variants are in the Hero Chassis list in Mechlab

That's right, starting today at 10am PST (after the servers come back up) you can buy the standard variants of the Victor for , with available beginning next week on the 16th. Since this is being released early, what does that mean?

You CAN:

Buy cockpit items for them
Level them with XP/GXP
Buy/equip modules
Customize the colours
Name them
Give them a good home
You CANNOT:

Change from the default pattern (yet)
(This will be available for you to do, however, on the 16th.)

So if you've been waiting on those standard Victors, here's your moment of Victory! Eh? Eh?

See you on the battlefield,
The MechWarrior Online Team

Looks like you can get a Victor with an AC/20 in the arm after all Shel. Now if the Awesome's CT wasn't the size of the broad side of a barn, we'd both be happy.

No kidding. Poor Awesome. Not that my Catapult is much better. I suffer headshots when people aim for center-mass! ;)

I had the same problem with the Dragon I was running. If I got hit from either side I was toasted in little to no time.

The way I do look at Catapults and Dragons, though, is that it's basically a consequence-free XL engine.

Unless you're driving the 9M or Pretty Baby, the size of your CT is only secondary to the real problem ...

Heheh, yup. The 9M was the first mech I bought, and the only one I still own, for that exact reason.

And after all my kvetching about it, I'm not even running an AC/20 build.

My VTR-9B

Only if you actually see and shoot at some enemy mechs.
In several of my matches on that map, each team walked to the opposing base without encountering the other and the fastest cap won the day.
I'm getting really tired of Terra Therma :(

Last game I had there we played to defend the base. Turned into an 8 on 8 slug fest that was brutal.

Same here.
I've actually had a few recent matches there in which my team decided to play defense and we got a pretty good fight out of it. I've also had a few matches where the team was divided on whether or not to play defense, and we got picked off separately.

What surprises me is that I haven't yet been in a match where both teams decided to stay back and defend their bases.

I like that Victor build, Shel, it's different from the usual cookie-cutter. How does it do for you?

Had a defense-defense battle on Therma yesterday, kinda.

The enemy team set up base defense, and as we were trudging toward them, their three spiders started capping us. We all RTB, killed two and chased off the other one. By then our base was about 70% capped so we all stayed to defend. Our lone light (Jenner) did some scouting and we talked **** to them as they weren't going to come out and play. Eventually our comments got to one of them and he charged and died. We proceeded to explain to them that we weren't leaving our cap because the SPDR would just cap us out, then we told them because they were down three to 0 that they were going to lose anyway, so why not come and see us...they lost because the timer ran out.

Took part in a couple 12 Vs 12 today. That was fun.

I do OK with it. I could stand to get a lot better at both long-range sniping and short-range brawling (basically, I could stand to get better at MWO in general) but even when I feel like I made a pretty poor showing I frequently discover that I topped the charts with damage between 300-600 and something like 1-2 kills and 3-4 assists. Also, I rarely overheat, have yet to run out of ammo, and most importantly - I have fun with it :)

And I'm still experimenting - this is the alternate build I came up with tonight.

Not sure I like the changes to the Gauss Rifle. It is taking some getting used to.

I did get to play on the new map today. It is beautiful.

New map's pretty neat. I'm still figuring out positioning on it for a few of my mechs. That elevated freeway really **** with my Catapults. Which is rather inconvenient, considering I'm working on filling in Elite on my C4 and building up the xp I'll need to finally Master my C1.

So I was messing around the that Cent Champ mech that is one of the Trial mechs right now. It has got **** for long range punch but if you get close...it will rip you a new one.

So, I did the same thing with my Quickdraw. Four Med lazers and three SRM-6's with Artemis. I am not done messing with it yet but with speed tweek it is really fast and hits hard. So hard.

Nice. One of these days, I'll settle on a brawler mech that I actually like, rather than tolerate. I'd love my Hunchbacks to death if it weren't for that damn inconveniently HUGE hitbox.

Warning! It is possible to blow yourself up if you fire at point blank range with SRM's.

Oh and I ended up with Two SRM6's and a SRM4. I am getting better at leading my targets. I splattered a spider today at near max range of the SRM's. It was great.

I played some real battle tech over the weekend and it almost makes me want to try this. However that would require time.

Yeah, was pretty disappointed with the change, I probably should practice with it instead of not using Gauss at all.

It's getting better and better. Really looking forward to them rolling out community warfare (whenever that actually occurs).
