Other part time tech: MIA presumed suspended/fired
Full time Tech that does other stuff, but sometimes helps out: Jury Duty
Me: trying to do everything.

When Columbus (or Fort Wayne, or Toledo, or Dayton, or Cincy...) are short handed I'm supposed to juggle everything and cruise on down there When the shoes on the other foot, I'm supposed to do the best I can. After all, Columbus is still/eternally short handed.

Don't get me wrong, God's been incredibly gracious in keeping my make/miss where it should be, but it just feels like I'm giving more than I'm getting.

No one was looking
I was thinking of you

Lady at my work pulled Grand Jury duty so she is out every Monday and Wednesday for 3 months.

One of the unpleasant realities in any career. Competence gets you screwed over when things go south. It is assumed you can handle it because "they" know you are good. Then they are surprised or disappointed when you are only human.

Just come in dressed better than average a few times. Make no comments about why. Maybe even do a couple of interviews. Let them think you may be looking to promote, maybe elsewhere.

If nothing else you get the joy out of playing with their heads.

Mike, that might work if I had a traditional office job. All my work is onsite service calls, and I don't really see my boss. He's in another state.

However I agree with your sentiment.

Turns out he's back. There was an issue with his driving record and he was suspended. I guess I better be extra careful then.
