Not caring as much for the deluxe hangar concept art. Like the basic and business better.

The concept art actually has a lot more character than I noticed during the reveal. The detail elements it covered gel with me fairly well; but I still want more dirt and wear.

Hopefully (since I know I'm going to get stuck with a Deluxe despite my affinity for the Basic) future work to give variety and character to the in-game hangars for different worlds will result in some texture-work to give some variety like that to the pledge hangars, so we can choose what state of repair and upkeep all 3 hangar types can be in.

Still jealous of the Business hangar's water feature, though; that's pure class, right there. I'll just have to live vicariously through friends' Business hangars when they add multiplayer access... ;)

Site appears down, not sure if this means it released or they've got the site down to get ready.

Looks up to me, still no hangar. Someone wrote a script to check (so the roberts site won't be hammered), here's their page -

At this point, I'm guessing they found some last minute frantic bug-squashing to do.

installer available for downloading, but patch installation seems sketchy, likely due to high volume and lack of .torrentization.

Looks like I need to upgrade the ol' video card. I knew this day would come...I just didn't know it would be today.

The one time I was able to beat the timeout and get logged in, everything seemed to work okay from my end.

Yep, I finished downloading this morning (it's quick now, couple mb a sec), but I've never gotten past the timeout error. I'm guessing the hangar auth servers are hammered/offline.

Finally got in, wow. The level of detail is still just amazing, even this early. I also had it running at 1920x1080 at ultra high detail and it was still acceptable, and I only have 6GB of RAM currently (bought a triple channel 2gb stick pack, will have to upgrade for the dogfighting alpha). However, my video card is pretty beefy, it's got 3GB on it, so it probably made up the difference.

Also worked great with the xbox controller.

I haven't hooked up a joystick yet. Is it X-input only or do direct input devices work too. I did figure out how to get in my sleeper though.

Confused...I got the Bounty Hunter package months ago. I did the exchange deal when they rolled out the new website.
The Hanger Module checklist says I need to buy a game pack, yet I am an "Original Backer"?

Seems wrong to me...

Do you have a Pathfinder, Arbiter, or Lightspeed package, or a 315p, 325a, of 350r ship listed separately? Because if it's the later, that's just an add-on ship, which needs a is meant to complement another package pledge since the add-on itself doesn't provide final game or alpha access.

The original backer is a status that is tied to your account based on the pledge date of your earliest pledge when the website transfer took place. It locks in original pricing through November, and entitles you to the one or two original/veteran exclusive perks, like the blue and white RSI flight suit. It doesn't person to game access because you keep it even if you melt down or gift all your pledges away...

OK after poking around I see what you are saying.

Was this different during the era of the old site? I thought the package I bought then provided game access. I must have grabbed the wrong thing when I applied my credits to the new site?
I'm pretty sure when I originally pledged that I had something that gave alpha/beta/game access.

Yeah, there was some confusion surrounding that, on the new site they allowed people who had already purchased packages to add seperate ships on as well, without purchasing packages. Some people bought ships instead of packages, so no starting pack.

I believe all you'll need to do is melt your current ship, and pick up the Digital bounty hunter package with LTI that's still available in the pledges.

Also, as expected, there's been a hangar bump, funding has now passed 17 million.

OK, I got it swapped over to the Digital Bounty Hunter.

The only thing I guess I lost out on was the ship upgrade to the 315. You can buy the Explorer as an extra ship for $65, but there doesn't seem to be a way to apply my extra $5 to change my 300 to the 315 and retain game access.

Oh well, I have $5 in store credit!

That means battlecruisers, yes? Battlecruisers sound cool!

Look for a "Pathfinder Package", Ulfynn. I'm not positive it's still available, but I think I saw it in the store after the limited ships were taken off the shelf. I could be wrong and can't check from the con, though.

Yes... it's my inner-kid-in-a-candy-store vs. my inner-cynic in a battle for the extra $10 (beyond what I've already spent).

Anyhow, I got into the Hanger mod and checked out the 300i. Very cool! I would say the fit & finish of this early build goes beyond what I expected, though there are definite glitches. I imagined the 300 series to be slightly larger that what it is; not a big deal. Excited by what's there and eager to see more added.

Yep, pathfinder package is still up, that's the one I'm rockin too. Definite bugs, I've already gotten stuck in a climbing animation and kind of surfed around the place, and every time I climb down the starboard side of my 315 I'm about a foot more in the ship than the ladder. Still, all I really cared about was seeing the ship, and man is it pretty. Wish we got a free scooter to play around in too, but ah well. Now the long wait for dogfight alpha begins.

we can add Grouse's 300i to the "list" if we are still keeping up with such things.
