I went out today to see how DCCD would perform. After absolutely pushing the boundaries of where a non-truck vehicle should go, I'm thoroughly impressed. With just 4 BFG G-Force SS All Seasons, I go unstuck from some stuff I never thought would be possible. Granted, a lost a bit of rubber and clutch doing so, but damn that was impressive.

I go caught in about 15" deep spots and with just a bit of rocking, the car unstuck itself. I hope this snow ends, though ...

That's encouraging. I took my Subaru up into the mountains a couple of years ago, and had to turn back because I just wasn't sure I wasn't going to either get stuck or roll down the mountainside. But, I have a regular Legacy instead of an Outback; I think it's about an 1 or 2 less ground clearance than the Outback models. But, nice to know that AWD actually does work in snow.

Aethien what the hell is your avatar? It looks like a fish kinda...but I'm seeing how it could be about 10 other things, too.

I think it's some kind of lizard with a neck frill. Painted lizard?

Impreza is my dream car.

Well not "you just won $900 million lottery" dream car, just the "one day if you save up and plan right you could actually afford one" dream car.

Heh, no, I'm just a wannabe hippie. Real hippies are from the 60s, maybe early 70s. I was about 10 when hippies were Hippies.

I love my WRX. I had a Civic Si before, but the WRX turns tighter, harder, and gets back on it far faster. When my wife got rid of her Legacy wagon for a Fit it drove her nuts because of the loss of AWD. 2 years later, she still smokes tires at lights. It doesn't help that she drives my car occasionally either.

I have, however, managed a few AWD burnouts. Probably not doing anything in the drive train any favors, but it is exciting.

After having a car with AWD, I don't know if I can go to something without it. My only real complaint about Subaru is they aren't the best for fuel economy, but if they ever get off their *** and go with direct injection that will go a long way to fix that particular issue.

Yeah right. How do you hide Aethien's money from him? Put it under the soap.
