There's is a very real difference between normal levels of fans cheering and people doing their absolute best to be as loud as they can and block the quarterback's calls. Don't be so dense.

come to think of it, there's probably some commonality here with the fact that Seattle is one of the few US cities (I think) that fills a stadium for soccer games ... where people tend to be stupidly loud throughout the whole game. I know they like they're King Felix, and the baseball games may be similarly loud. So, maybe it's a cultural thing. Must be something in the water.

I think the better choice is just to ban fans.

Can't make noise if you can't attend.

Positive outcome: no attendance would help with rapid bankruptcy of sports and people might find better **** to do with their time.

I would like to stress that I love sports and love cheering on my teams but there is a point when noise making becomes obnoxious.

Twenty million people watched that Seahawks-49'rs game on national TV. One 30 second ad during that telecast was going for $975,000.00

Sounds like crowd envy to me...

Sounds like you care more about your city than you do about the game. Which is fine.

When an outside influence affects one team disproportionately, the contest between two teams becomes irrelevant. The game itself loses meaning.

The integrity of the game is not harmed by crowd noise.

It's not artifically generated, or amplified in any way, other than by the acoustics of the stadium itself.

The two loudest single incidents in that stadium occurred spontaneously as a result of play on the field.

One was the Marshawn Lynch "Beast Quake" run against New Orleans. The crowd reaction to that play shook the ground in the stadium such that it registered in seismic sensors in the area. There were no sound measurements during this game.

And the Guinness World Record for the loudest spontaneous crowd roar at an outdoor stadium was broken during the game last week after a goal line stand (we love ourselves some good defense!). 136.6dbA

Crowd noise is absolutely part of the game. Any NFL player would tell you they would love for their home crowd to be that loud.

Even back to the days of the Kingdome. That place was loud as hell too.

What about the Metrodome and Superdome, they're supposed to be super loud as well.

Also, this explains the 48ers loss.

Is Lenas really making the argument he is making? I keep waiting for him to say he is trolling us.

I honestly think that people making noise loud enough to impact a quarterback's ability to communicate with his team should not be allowed. It can greatly impact the game and it has nothing at all to do with player or team ability.

Great for the Colts. Young stud QB, young stud RB. Colt's are going to be a hand full for the next decade.

Trent sucks as a RB, he can't make the jump to the pro-level. I am shocked that the Browns have so blatantly thrown in the towel on this season is shocking.

Defense wins championships. That's why a good fan will cheer loudest for their team's defense.
