So I did the $25k suitcase exploit with Franklin for about 10 minutes and I was distraught to find that your characters don't share cash. It makes sense, but blah :/

Rockstar says to avoid using garages to save cars until a bug can be fixed. Pity, as I spent a ton of money on upgrading a car and now it's gone into the ether.

Side note: If you're playing Franklin and start doing missions for Lester where he gives you some extra cash for shaking things up on the stock market... you can totally get in on that same action. The game has a fully functional stock market, two in fact. One for the single player game, and one connected to the cloud of players. So if Lester tells Franklin that what you're going to do is drive up the price of a particular stock, be sure to buy that beforehand, and keep an eye on it for 5 - 10 minutes after your mission.

I didn't realize this until after I'd completed two Lester missions. But my third mission, I made a 40% profit from all the shares I sold (bought about 400k worth of shares, ended up with close to 600k in cash afterward). Don't think you can short-sell in this game, but you can indeed invest in competitors of the business you're about to ruin.

Not entirely sure how the global market works, but supposedly as more players use different aspects of the game (or not) stock prices fluctuate. Ammu-nation, for example, is pretty strong.

I've never played any of these games, but I must say.. there's something weird about a game that is about stealing cars that also involves a stock market.

The funny thing about what GTA has evolved into is that pretty much no money can be made from car theft. Stealing cars is akin to taking public transportation (except cheaper, and more readily available). It's just another means of being mobile.

Wow, I didn't realize the stock market back end was global, I thought it was just in your instance of the game. Fortunately I did the same as you, as soon as Lester was like "we're about to help out this company" I dumped all my cash into that stock. Turned into a nice little cab company.

Yeah, it's the BAWSAQ (the one that's green and gray for their page's colors) that's tied to the global economy.
