Does he have the slightest idea how much danger he is in? She's very cute Raell.

Wwen...when I saw that there were four pictures spoilered, and clicking on the first one showed the baby in the 'Y', I was very disappointed in you for the next three.

Understandable. I know I'll morph into that come March.

Prepare yourselves!

I thought it was great. The Wild Grouse didn't want to be photographed, but the FotB insisted ("I bought your dinner; you're getting your picture taken"). So I grabbed Greg, bride's brother, a cousin who we hadn't seen in like ten years despite growing up together. Grouse went for the hat he has on, I grabbed the other one because I didn't want to get stuck with the sombrero. Then Greg was like "You're telling me I have to wear a hat" Well, no but you'll look stupid without one now.

Not yet. Also, probably not likely this season, judging by their schedule, unless they do really well this year and place in the D1 tournaments -- I might try to attend Evansville this fall.

Gem City just regained full WFTDA member status this past December; I came into the team's orbit just as its membership was just really turning the corner from a 3-year drought that dropped them out of eligibility. Since a year ago, the league's back to a full charter and B team roster, with a healthy crop of fresh meat still on the way up.

That said, Dayton's still a small market despite the growth. Our charter team isn't gonna be putting up a fair fight against Cincinnati or OHRG. It really kind of shocks me how dense the leagues are here in the Ohio/Michigan/Indiana area as I begin paying attention to more than just Gem City (this year, I'm planning to start travelling some with the team where I can so I can earn some evals and endorsements to apply for NSO certification). I mean, hell, you've got Naptown, Cinci, Detroit, and OHRG; 4 D1 teams all within 4 hours of each other.

Anyways, the next six weeks or so are going to be exciting for us -- two bouts with Black n' Bluegrass and a bout with Ann Arbor will see us get our requisite sanctioned matches in to get re-ranked, and I'm interested to see where they'll fall. Next year, with a rank secured, it wouldn't surprise me to see Gem City show up on Burning River or NEO's radar if we make a good showing of ourselves this year.

It'll be tough, though; we're losing two of our solid charter skaters who are moving to Philly. So I'm not really sure how our season's going to go.

Bah. You know what? I'm just going to start a thread in Sports; I didn't realize we had any other folks here who were aware of derby at all 'till you and Aizle came out of the woodwork.
