Gunship battle fight is AWESOME. I wont spoiler it other than to say I was on the away team. I'm sure it will be well received by everyone who does it.

We got down Lady Deathwhisper after 4 attempts last night. It aint easy, we're thinking it will be nerfed but who knows. Gunship was fantastic as mentioned and we one shot it. It's more of a fun fight than a difficult one and that's fine by me after Lady DW.

Last guy Saurfang we tried 3 times, got him to under 30% and then had to call it a night.

I picked up this from a trash drop:

Yep. He sure does. Sigh.

Interesting thing... Saurfang is affected by MS debuffs.

Hm.

Also, the little bit after we killed him... Made me sad inside.

You fight Saurfang in all this? What the hell for? He's awesome; I wish he'd make good on his threat to kill Hellscream.

Very cool congrats Monte. I've still only seen 1 drop although admittedly I've only run the instances several times each.

I was able to get my oh so coveted ax from Marrowgar: http://www.wowhead.com/?item=50415

If anyone is bored and wants to critique my armory please do:

http://www.wowarmory.com/character-shee ... cn=Dashhal

I believe I have about 94 triumph badges and exactly 50 frost emblems. Plus some titansteel bars and about 1400 gold.

I am thinking upgrade to T9 Helm / BP, find someone to craft me some Titanium Spikeguards to upgrade my wrist slot and just save for my T10 stuff to get the 2 piece bonus asap.

I would change your spec away from Divine Sacrifice. It's basically useless for ret now. Talk to your tanks and see if vindication would free up some GCDs for them. Or, your raid leader might want you to have Aura Mastery. Still lackluster, but it can help on magic damage spikes (and, you get a little more int if you go that route).

Other than that, you look great to me.

I personally like having the two in vindication- It gives us with 2 talents what it takes warriors 5 talents to get. That, and ours is essentially instant and permanent on any target we're attacking.

Hmm ok I hadnt even considered my spec but I do remember reading about the changes to Divine Sacrifice. Vindication sounds like a good option we'll see.

I changed a bunch of stuff around last night. New shoulders, BP and Helm. Changed rings and hands. Now I need to re-gem everything! =/

This, to me, is why I don't want anything to do with the raiding game beyond extreme casual or PuG. The raid leader doesn't get to "want" me to have anything. I tell him what I have and he works with it, or he finds someone else, especially when I spent 1000 gold to have 2 specs to be able to do 2 roles.

If he wants someone else, fine. He can take his chances that person will pay attention and do their job.

Yup, that's why you probably shouldn't have anything to do with the raiding game either. ;)

It's rare that our raid leaders ask anyone to change spec or role, but generally when they do ask it's because it will provide a crucial advantage to the raid. In a raid, you are part of a team, and if you can help the entire team instead of just yourself, why wouldn't you?

Mysterious Egg cracked for me, I opened it up, expecting more aged yolks. Instead, I got Reins of the Green Proto-Drake. I'm not all that fond of Proto-Drakes, but my son took one look at it and said "Mommy, that dragon is wicked awesome!" So now that's what I use.

Talya,

Congratulations!

I have green proto drake on protadin and mage but not my warlock. I keep picking up eggs, however.

It's about the only reason other than DEing he gets logged in at the moment.

I actually have a macro that summons:

Albino Drake
Green Proto Drake
or Onyx Netherwing Drake if flyable

Or Stormpike Charger / Cobalt Talbuk / Armored Bear if not.

As to your gear/spec Dash, work on some +hit. You're close enough to melee hit cap with a few gems or enchants.

http://wow-heroes.com/hitcalculator.php

I'd suggest going for Mark of Supremacy which would let you lose +hit on other pieces and gem your yellows to be +crit, +crit/strength, or +crit/stam. Or go for a Grim Toll if it drops in Naxx (assuming you still do Naxx).

I believe (but Monte would know better than I) that it goes hit to cap > strength > expertise > attack power > crit > armor penetration > haste.

Where do you get those eggs Talya? I know it's some crazy low chance to get the drake but just curious now.

Yeah my hit is all over the place. As high as 332 and as low as 208 depending on what gear I have on. Good call on that mark of supremacy I had forgotten about that one since my hit was usually way to high but maybe I'll end up using it after all.

I find Hit is a huge pain to keep capped, but not overcapped, as I upgrade stuff.

I used to have the +95 hit Battlemaster's trinket, and I will probably pick up the Mark of Supremacy, just because they are nice to throw on when you need to make up some hit until all the rest of the upgrades work out.

To be perfectly frank, it's because I play the game only for my own amusement. If I'm asked to join a team, and they don't like the assets I brought, perhaps they ought to have thought of that beforehand. I'm not playing the game for the benefit of a team that wants me to play a character in a way I don't enjoy. If I'm asked to join a group, for example, and specify I'm only coming as DPS, not to tank.. that means I'm not going to tank.

I've been down that road in EQ and fought that battle with people who wanted to carry that a lot further. I got sick and tired of people claiming it would "benefit the team" if a few people got most of the loot. I don't tolerate that, now or then. Hence I avoid more than the most causal raiding. Fortunately for everyone else, there's more than enough people that I'm not needed and so everyone is happy.

We beat Saurfang last night on 25 man, nice. I dont know his back story I'll have to look it up.

We also cleared TotC and I got 2 trophys so now I have to make yet more changes and fill gem slots. Which brings me to my point that how they do armor in 3.3 is much better than the previous iteration.

If it was 3.3 style for T9 armor, I could just use a trophy to upgrade my existing armor, but as it is now I need to buy a whole new piece for 75 badges. Granted triumph are easy to come by now but still!

Finally downed Marrowgar last night. As I suspected, folks eventually just "got" it, and stopped dying to stupid stuff.

Finally replaced my Matriarch's Spawn with Mystifying Charm last night. Sure the Spawn looked better, but I've had that thing for well over 6 months, probably 7 or 8!

Yeah I dunno what it is about Deathwhisper. The breakthrough we had last week was easily repeated this week and I feel like we shouldn't ever wipe on her again outside of random stupid stuff. Just up and went from 99% impossible to pretty darn easy and safe.

All raids are different, but we run 2 melee/2 ranged on right, and supposedly (would have to check!) 3 melee/1 ranged on left. Had our 2 enhancement shaman (our unassigned melee) on the boss since their damage is pretty well split between physical and spell, which not only is relevant for the Reanimated adds but also for that damned spell reflect shield thing. Find it a lot safer on the melee this way. Definitely keep the purer physical damage melee on adds. For what it's worth, we don't really have that many physical-heavy dps at all, now that we lost one of our combat rogues. :(

Fanatic add in the back would get pulled towards the group of adds on the right for easier killing. Adherents don't much cooperate with being moved so there isn't terribly much you can do with them. Certainly not with a Druid as your 3rd tank. :( With a DK or something you can probably move that to the left side adds.

1 healer on each tank, a Pally healing both left and right tank via beacon, and 2 raid healers. 1 decurser assigned to each group. All ranged in the raid turn to kill Reanimated Fanatics and the zombie troll things ASAP.

It's not really that different from what we were trying initially with the boss, so my only guess is that we failed with similar strategies cause it was new to us in the beginning, then swapped strats for something we thought would work better. During this time we figured out all the details about how to run the fight, then when we went back to a similar strat it clicked nicely. Such is my guess.

We actually had an awesome night tonight, and surprisingly one-shot everything. Turns out Saurfang is SO SO SO MUCH EASIER if you let the first 2 people die to Mark of the Fallen Champion. We accidently let the first 3 die, in fact. :p We failed pretty hardcore last week trying to just heal it as intended, only getting Saurfang to about 25-30% by the time 5 Marks were up. I don't think we ever got him lower than 20% that way, and that last 20% is a loooooong way in this fight that gets so exponentially harder as it goes on. Tonight it was pretty solidly one shot with time to spare. We even did pretty badly this time on the Blood Beasts, which hit people over 50 times (+50 Blood Power) over the course of the fight, where most good guilds get like 10. Highly recommend this strat for anyone having trouble with him... though it sure won't work for hard mode later on. And I'd not be too surprised if Blizzard does something to "fix" this, though for now it's perfectly legitimate.
