The Glade 4.0

I had dinner with my daughter last night.

It was a pleasant time. We talked about many things, all civilly and pleasantly. The old issues stayed at home.

Things seem to finally be getting better.

Katas, it was at Azukar Sushi. She liked it.

My wife's daughter didn't speak to her for a couple of years, then shortly after coming back "into the fold", she requested that we co-sign for a car loan for her.

I really expected trouble when we turned her down, but she just cried a bit and soldiered on, and then a couple of months later she was able to obtain credit on her own.

Since then we've helped pay for her college (we pay half of whatever it costs for C's or better, all our kids get that deal 'till they marry) and all is well... she's a happy and participating part of the family.

It just takes a bit of time for some to grow up, apparently. Congratulations! You may have some rocky times in store, but just stick to being who you are and don't bend. I know you want the best for her, and when the time comes that she's fully mature, she'll know that too.
