I was told my package was scanned onto the truck but "accidentally" got left behind. That is the external causes for the delay.

On another note...

I've got about 2 hours in. The detective mode changes and basic UI changes took some getting used to but it is still a good game so far.

I *LOVE* the detective mode changes. It means that detective mode is no longer the vastly superior mode, and that the only way you'll see the wonderful texture and lighting is by forcing yourself to turn off your detective mode, thus purposefully gimping yourself. There was absolutely no incentive to ever leave detective mode in the first game.

Finished the main story line...wow. That being said, the game is only 34% complete.

So, I, uh, may have actually ordered two Xbox 360 copies of the game to get the collector's edition version (after the fact) as well as the Batman: TAS pre-order skin...

So, uh, anyone want to buy the extra copy of the game? $50 and still includes the Catwoman DLC. $45 (again, with Catwoman DLC) if you let me keep the case (the CE disc doesn't have a proper case; it's part of the art book and that wouldn't look right on my shelf). :)

But does it come with the Catwoman DLC?

By the way, because I made the grievous error of actually purchasing Green Lantern on Blu-ray, I've a free download code for the Sinestro Corps Batman skin up for grabs. It's a PS3 exclusive, and my game copy (both of 'em!) is for the 360.

Anyone want, just lemme know.

Finished the main storyline.

Spoiler:
I was a little surprised at how short it was (or at least how short it felt) compared to the first.

I was not really surprised that the Joker died, especially with all of this reboot thing DC is going to do/is doing. And with Mark Hamill (supposedly) retiring his Joker voice, it seemed the ideal time to do it. I was happy with how they killed him off.

It made sense, that it was not Batman that did it but the Joker himself that ultimately did himself in.

It was a good ending, but a bittersweet... almost sad ending. I am curious as to just how much of a mindf*** it would be to Batman to have his long-term nemesis disappear like that. Sure, he does not want him hurting others. But to have him completely gone forever, it has to mess with his head; a man who he himself is a bit sociopathic with just a hint of obsessive insanity.

Overall, I can't say if Batman truly won. Which I suppose is the Joker's ultimate joke.

LTTP: I had no idea how much I wanted this game, until Oonagh got it for me for my birthday semi-unexpectedly. I may have expressed an interest in it in her presence, but it was her knowledge of what I like in a game which she informed the GameStop dude that helped her come up with this pick.

Played the first one only a teensy little bit, so I didn't really get a feel for the game, but I am having so much fun with this. So much to do and it really gives you a feel of being Batman....so much so that I have been sneaking up on Oonagh and saying "I'm Batman"

Don't get me wrong. I love Batman. But some of the things you can do in that game are not possible, even by his standards.

Are you saying that a non-augmented human being can't leap 50 feet across a room from a dead-stop? Blasphemy!

Troy Baker is certainly climbing the video game voice actor celebrity charts. Here is he wowing a crowd at NY comic con with his Joker voice for the next Arkham game.

I'm simultaneously delighted and saddened by his performance. For one, he does a great impersonation of Hamill's Joker. Which is cool. But I also am saddened that he didn't create his own spin on the character. Hamill created a great joker. But there are other great jokers out there to be discovered (Heath Ledger is a prime example of this).

Ledger couldn't hold a candle to Hamill's Joker.

At any rate, consistency is important. I hate going from one game in a series to the next when they have different voice actors(I'm looking at you, Xenosaga 2). It isn't as good as Hamill. But I think, at least for me, it's close enough. The biggest problem I have with the new game is the prequel status. I **** hate prequels.

The two are very different. Hamill's joker would suck suck suck suck SUCK (and then blow very hard) in a live action setting (for a taste, watch his "Trickster" on the old Flash series).

It's hard to compare the two. Hamil is good for an animated slightly lighter Joker aimed at a younger audience and Ledger was awesome for the tone of his movie.

I actually read recently that Tim Curry was the original choice to play the joker in Batman, the animated series. Even recorded several episodes, then the producers decided that he was just too goddamn scary for a kids show.

Anyone other than Numbuk and I get the new game?

I really didn't like it at first. Like, I was hating it but the more I played, the more I liked it. Finished the main quest line today, it was pretty damn good.

I liked it, but the combat was a lot worse than Asylum/City. What's his nose did a decent Mark Hamill impersonation for the Joker. I really missed Kevin Conroy and swinging around the city could get temperamental at times, but the assassin fights (minus Copperhead. Firefly was great) were pretty cool.
