Nah, thanks, but I'm not overly concerned. I voted with my wallet, choosing to support the process as much as anything. I'm not nearly as much of a space sim geek a some of you are.

It seems like a really cool project, and based on the support it's getting from the players, I thought it would be cool to be a part of it.

I based my decision about what to buy based somewhat blindly on the basic description of the items, and what I thought was a reasonable budget.

My only concern is that, mostly out of laziness, I didn't do any research on the ship, or it's role in the game universe.

It's not a big deal. I'm sure it will be fine. :P

Hehe. Cool. Which ship, if you don't mind?

Oh, that's right, you were on my roster. Oops, I didn't remember putting you there.

The 315p is my favorite ship in my hangar, thus far. It's quite attractive, and I figure it's probably the best starting point of my single-man ships for what I'd love to spend the bulk of my time doing. Will I probably upgrade the armament at some point? Yeah, but that tractor beam is shiny and I suspect I'll really dig the efficient engine.

That one, along with the 325 are tops on my list of ships to purchase when money frees up.

At least long enough to earn some scratch to buy something else in game.

Preface: I have not been following the development that closely and only glancing over this thread.

The 315P looks to be the ship I'd like to upgrade to. I pledged the $60 for the 300i. If I turn in my pledge for credit and then purchase the 315p, will I lose all the additional stuff that shows as part of the original pledge?

No. Any backer rewards you've accumulated through stretch goals and the like are linked to your account, not the pledge itself. The exception is that original Constellation packages pledged for before the end of the Kickstarter campaign were to receive *signed* copies of the physical "Deluxe Green Collector's Box" reward. That goes based on pledge date associated with that pledge, so would be lost if it were melted and re-pledged.

Everything else is fine to melt and re-pledge.

Presumably, the re-introduction of the upgrades for the Aurora LN sale was a testbed for the solution for that one when the Constellation variants roll around.

Does the 315 have a better engine as default - thats the only change I see besides a nose mounted tractor (never liked non turrent or rear mounted tractors though).

Thanks K-dude.

I submitted the same request to RSI support. Pending their same response, I will likely 'melt' my pledge and repurchase the 315P.

Hoping to be able to just totter about the universe, avoid detection as best as possible and find whatever will be "out there" to be found. I want a jump point named after me.

Perhaps my longtime handle of "Hitman" will throw off any potential fugitives by making them run from me in case they think I am hunting them down.

Yes, the engine is supposed to be "more efficient" -- whether this will result in longer range or stealthier emissions is as yet unknown, but both have been speculated. It's also a TR4 instead of the TR3's (or dual TR3's, in the 350r) on the other variants.

For what it's worth, the nose-mounted tractor beam is on a Class 2 hardpoint. Class 2's have a limited range of motion, but not as full a range as a Class 4 turret.

Yeah I think the 315 would be better for me though another weapons mount is always nice.

The 325 has a stronger shield, a nose-mounted Mass driver (to complement the lasers) if you are thinking the dogfighting route...or just want to pack a little more punch with the ability to withstand a little more damage.

Me, I hope to keep a low profile.

EDIT - And 2x2 IR missiles mounted in the wingbox.

Yep, however, those are all just the default loadouts. It's my understanding (other than the 350R, which has an entirely different engine mount) that the 300/315/325 are all fully interchangable, loadout wise, and have the same hardpoints. I considered buying the 325, simply because it would be more suited to the "dogfighting" module, but decided I'd rather have insurance for more of an explorer/salvaging ship in case of financial ruin for some reason.

I suspected they might be, which is why I'm looking at a 315 and a 325 as my other purchases. Note to House of Representatives - pass deal; RSI needs my money for MOAR INTERNET SPACESHIPS RARRR!! plzkthks.

Yeah, all the equipment on the 315p and 325a are interchangeable and readily available for purchase. It's only a matter of which loadout the base insurance will replace (you can insure most "aftermarket" additions separately, we've been told).

276,135 Star Citizens, and 22.85 million bucks raised. This thing is a freaking freight train. I can't even imagine the boost when they release the dogfight. Only 8k alpha slots left right now. They're going to hit 50 million by the time the single player alpha releases. Enough to buy every backer a high end pc to run the damn thing!

So the confirmation for reclaiming says that it will remove the pledge from my account. I think I'll hold off until I get a response from RSI.

I don't want to lose any of my original backer schwag.

Also, did they ever say what, specifically, Golden Ticket holders will receive?

I think the last I heard, it was going to be a badge or emblem you could display on your ship.

It's big, and shiny, and says "Please attack the living crap out of my ship."

If they are going to do something like that, I hope it involves exclusive access to a store somewhere where you can buy a selection of original backer cosmetic swag for your ships and hangars.

I want my ticket to get me "in" to someplace.

Random thought: I wonder if there will be "legendary" equipment to be found.

Perhaps equipment that can't be bought but rather found in deep space salvage.

Thought that would be interesting, though I have no idea if they were even thinking something like that.

EVE has that. You salvage ships for stuff that's used to produce rigs (semi-permanently-installed modules that ahve their own slots). Also, the best modules are deadspace, faction, and officer modules and drop off difficult enemies in space; they aren't player made like the vast bulk of stuff. Some faction mods can be bought in NPC corp loyalty stores, but not the better deadspace and officer stuff. I hope there will be things like that, especially as a reward for exploration.

Star Citizen has indicated it will have items and equipment that won't be produced economically (and thus won't be for sale by vendors). Salvaging, exploration, and killing notable enemies are all supposed to tie into that.

Presumably, it's still tradeable, but I'm not sure it's been explicitly stated that it will be. The implication was that because of this, for instance, not all of the "best" gear will be insurable.
