You have to assign numbers to each choice, then it moves them to the right place on the ladder.

It picks in order when you select the first one. It should allow you to reorder from there.

Wow, 9 responses, and there are some pretty glaring alignments.

Bounty Hunting, Escorts, Exploration and Salvaging have broad support (Smuggling and Shipping just behind), while Raiding, Racing, Assassinations, and Piracy are all pretty low.

It looks like everybody wants to stay off UEE warrants, and a base of operations near the borders of UEE space has very strong support. I clearly need to break the question about lone wolfing vs. grouping into 5 to get any data, but it looks like any reservations I'd had about finding crew for some of the multi-seaters are probably misplaced among this group...

I'm skeptical of pirating until I understand how the system works. But I wouldn't be against having a separate "Void Raiders" outfit for a shady alt.

That'd be tough for me, since I'm very much a "one account" sort of person. I do make alts on my accounts in other games, but I sort of understand each account is one pilot here, and my alts never keep up with my main in any game. I guess we'll have to see how it shakes out and how well things like bounty hunting work as a source of income. It might be cool to have 2 "wings" to the corporation (or whatever it's called in SC); the upstanding "Rangers" and not-so-much "Raiders".

Remember that alts don't have to keep up with a leveling curve. You can trade and sell ships and equipment between accounts. The downside is each character requires a paid copy of the game. For me that would mean 3 accounts, as my second account is mostly to let my kids man the turrets/second seats and have a ship they can get blowed up without pissing me off. It would also serve as a good fence between an upstanding main and nefarious alter-ego.

That's the rub.

While it hasn't gone up on the store, yet, looking at the difference between pledge packages and the add-on ships included with the package suggests that extra character slots will probably be in the $5-15 range. Send the character through Squadron 42 and you should be able to afford an Aurora or so to start them with. Probably not outrageous, if that helps.

It might. I'll see how it shakes out. It'll also depend on how much other interest there is in pirate alts. I would have voted "Wild West" but I want to see how that shakes out before committing myself to the low security areas, too.
