The Glade 4.0

New one out today. Patch 9 (meaning we're averaging just under 3 a month, which is more than I would've realized without counting) isn't super-sexy, but does sound like a big step.

It's introducing persistence. Meaning that you can change your ship loadout, log out, and come back to the same loadout. Right now, it's client-side, not server-side, but that's still pretty important. So test it out and report bugs and errors!

In addition, apparently the fish tank got a makeover, and there's a trophy case, along with 3 potential trophies -- Golden Tickets, the RSI Zeus (I think this was a current backer reward at some point), and the Gamescom Trophy.

Next patch (due before the New Year -- hopefully, they're not using the Chinese calendar) is supposed to be sexier and feature some "new stuff" -- my guess is Cutlass and Asteroid Hangars.

The upgrades (to the Hornets for example) applied on the website show correctly in the hanger? Did they remove the gatling guns from the Super?

The upgrades applied to ships last Friday, because that wasn't a hangar-related thing. It was updating the website so it could change what ship you had in the database based on applying an upgrade. Then, the hangar just referenced that database as normal. (The F7A upgrade is the exception, and is still not functional, because it requires new skins that aren't made yet. We've also heard that when it is functional, it'll be an in-game kit item or something.)

Last Friday, when I checked my hangar to see my Ghost, my Super Hornet still had the gattling guns.

Boo. The Super Hornet's guns now match the ship specs page. I'll miss my Gatling guns.

The patch swapped the positions of my Hornet and Freelancer.

Patching up. Some fun stuff today -- like the Cutlass! Also, the new, single-seater Avenger. And, oh yeah, the test firing range and first batch of weapons.

Also watching the highlights of the Livestream, because it coincided with my departmental holiday lunch today.

Have they talked about what patching mechanism they're using? Is it currently straight from server, or are they incorporating some kind of bittorrent? Took me all morning to patch this thing, just wondering if they've talked about plans for later.

Its currently a traditional download as I understand it

Grouse bought a sucker fish they are ugly little cusses. Also I am sad that you can't shoot the mass drivers yet. However the bulldogs are just fun.
