Ah, Continuum. How did I put it when I first saw it?
Oh, yes. Facebook will remind me:
Kaffis, apparently sometime in April (tells you how much I say on Facebook that I could find it, huh?) wrote:
So, my brother calls me up to tell me about a show he's watching the pilot for on Netflix streaming. I think it was called "Continuum" or something. Anyways, he's describing it as a show with a future cop who goes back in time to chase time travelling future terrorists who dodged their death row sentence and are planning on screwing up the timeline. All their future technology still works in the present day. So one of the terrorists gets caught pretty early into the episode, and future cop gives him some truth serum, before having to flee the scene because the Canadian cops show up.
At this point, I have to interrupt him. "Whoa, whoa, whoa. So you had me fine with future cops, time travelling terrorists, working super-tech out of time, and even truth serum. But the terrorists are going to screw up the timeline by doing something in Canada? Now you've destroyed my suspension of disbelief."
I never did look for a new season, I should go do that. It used its non-time travel scifi elements charmingly; I liked a lot of Kiera's tech.
