And I was right. Stupid mistake at the end there. Although, the refs weren't helping. Terrible PI call, and a no call on that body slam.

The league could now allow the Whiners to lose.. not after all of the hype about Candlestick.

Despite bad calls on both sides, last night's game was great! I've never heard the crowd at Candlestick so loud! I couldn't hear my son who was sitting right next to me, and my hearing is great. :P

Best part...Niners won, baby! Playoff bound, once again! :D

Wow, only 30 arrests and 81 people ejected from the stadium?

Fantastic, Vlad. thanks. I turned on the game about 30 seconds after this, on the Bears' next possession. That makes beating the Bears all the more sweet.

My daughter just showed me this, a video of the Wisconsin Badgers reacting to the Cobb TD. Look for the one guy on the team from Chicago, who isn't too happy ...

Hehehe.... Pete Carroll is a troll...

I listened to his "Pete Carroll Show" at 9AM this morning (710sports ESPN) , and without directly saying it, hepretty much implied that Harvin would be going on the IR later this week.

Then, this afternoon, in a scheduled on-air interview with a different station (KJR), he made the statement that Harvin would probably practice this week, at which point the radio hosts heads all exploded...

I'm pretty sure he does this stuff so he can sit in his office and laugh is *** off listening to the radio guys freaking out...

My take; They would have been foolish to keep him on the roster if there wasn't some chance he could play in the playoffs.

From his one appearance (14 snaps, 1 Target and Catch, and a Kick Return against the Vikings) it's obvious he changes the game just by being on the field.

I suspect he'll be on the active roster for the game (against New Orleans if they beat Philly or the winner of Whiners/Packers) on the 11th, but will probably not get much play time. We'll see where it goes from there.

BTW, if you are interested in some Seattle Sports Talk radio, here are the three local stations. With college football being over here, it's all Seahawks All the Time right now.

710 Sports - ESPN Affiliate - Live Streaming and Podcasts - Official Seahawks Station - Morning show with Brock Huard and Danny O'Neil is the best of the shows. The others are kinda meh...
http://mynorthwest.com/category/sports/

SportsRadio KJR 950 - Fox Sports affiliate - Live Streaming and Podcasts - More and better local personalities - Interesting and Funny at times - Hardcore Seahawks fanboys (mostly)
http://www.sportsradiokjr.com/main.html

I'll throw the CBS affiliate in for good measure, but it's brand new, and only has one local show (3pm-6pm), and not much interesting content.
http://seattle.cbslocal.com/station/1090thefan/

Edit:
Every Monday, the afternoon producer at KJR (@KevinShockey) does an 'opponent audio recap' where he makes a short, 5-10 run of all of the opposing teams radio broadcasts from that weekends game. These can be quite entertaining, especially when fun stuff (like four penalties on one play!) happens. I just listened to this weeks version live and it was radio gold. It's not posted online yet, but you can find it on this page once he gets it posted.

My take: He's been fine since Minnesota. Like ready to blow up the backfield kind of fine. Pete's been holding him in reserve since we haven't actually *needed* him. Now, since we have homefield throughout, and a 1st round bye, we can install all of the explosive Harvin plans...

AND NOONE HAS ANY GAME FILM OF HIM.

If his hip was 100% he'd be playing. He can't be in 'game shape'. He didn't even have a spring training.

I think he'll get a little time in this first game, then assuming it's a win, probably more time in the following game, all in preparation for the possibility of having him for the Superbowl.

Hehe.. yea, various versions of that have been making the rounds today. Couple of things..

* How the hell did he hold onto that ball? props...
* Probably should have been a penalty. The ref said it wasn't a penalty because he was blocked into the receiver.. which he obviously wasn't.

And KJR put the opponent audio recap from the SEA STL game up on their website.

It's freakin' hilarious

Oh, snap! Like this hasn't happened at every other sporting event ever! Idiots and drunks are at every game, no matter the sport. I'm sure there were a few Seahawks fans ejected or arrested during games this year too.

I'm a lifelong San Francisco 49ers fan. I know when my team is bad...I know when my team is good...I know when my team is mediocre. This year they are mediocre...but they are still my team...and they are going to the playoffs again. I doubt they will win, but I still have faith. :)

Jasmy,

As a Seahawks fan, it's my sworn obligation to taunt you mercilessly at every opportunity (all in good fun of course!).

Finding any news accounts of fans at Century Link being arrested is pretty difficult. The Seahawks place plain clothes police officers wearing visting team jerseys in the stands at every home game, and to my knowledge, no one has ever been arrested by one. In fact, the ESPN SportsCenter anchors were making fun of Seahawks fans leaving the Clink and actually using the crosswalks and waiting for signals to get to the off site parking, etc.. (who does that?) :p

You have admit, 30 people being arrested, 80 being ejected, and one going to a hospital is pretty bad . I shudder to think what would have happened if the Whiners had lost that game. I mean who do you guys think you are? The Eagles? :p

Edit:
Here, I saved you some trouble. The last arrest I can find for seahawks fans is these two knucklehead police officers from a neighboring city. It's from LAST SEASON!!
http://blogs.seattletimes.com/today/201 ... awks-game/

Considering how loud and boisterous our fans are at the stadium, they do a good job of staying out of trouble.

Haha yeah, that was definitely my super bowl. Especially since we drew the short straw again and got the 9ers next weekend...

Yeah, well done for holding onto it.
Perhaps. But the receiver didn't call for a fair catch, and Lockette arrived a split second after the ball.
And actually, #38 appears to push Lockette. I wondered why it looked like he kicked in the afterburners. Look at this view. Watch #38. And watch Lockette's shoulders. He's pushed. Good call refs.

Yeah, the homer announcers are hilarious. Idiots.

On the ejection of that Rams guy.

The flag wasn't thrown for the accidental contact. It was thrown after the Rams player grabbed the official's arm. I thought it was tickytack as it happened, but after review, justified.

The forearm to the helmet should probably have been called though...

Eeehhh... I dunno, It seemed inadvertent. I'd rather not see that called. Edit: Oh, forearm to helmet, not official hat. Well, that's a judgement call. Does a receiver of a punt have defenseless player protection there if the gunner is blocked into him? Its a judgement call, could go either way really. I'd be ok if it was called, or if it wasn't.

Fisher needed to get control of his team. They seemed to want to kill Tate more than play football.

Interesting article. I like the idea. It does seem to suck for teams that finish well but miss the playoffs and teams with .500 or worse get to go.

There is definitely some room for improvement in the playoff bracketing system...

However, emphasizing point differential (as that article suggested) is just going to create new problems... I mean, the game just isn't played that way. Teams play to win, not to score max points. There are times when teams intentionally slow the game down to run out the clock, or pull the starters when a game is out of reach....

With a point differential system you couldn't do that, and you'd have teams running up the score...

It would fundamentally change the way teams are built, and the way the game is played...

No system is going to make everyone happy...

Midgen,

As a 49er Faithful it is my sworn obligation to point out...

Arizona Cardinals 17 Seattle Seahawks (at home) 10

the following week...

San Fransisco 49ers 23 Arizona Cardinals (at home) 20.
;)

Good for your fans though on being law-abiding citizens. Unfortunately the drunken idiots trying to steal seats from Candlestick Park give the good fans a bad name. I wouldn't be surprised to find out some of those drunken idiots were from across the Bay.

Allow me to point out that the Seahawks won the NFC West division, and are the #1 seed in the NFC. Along with the Broncos, they ended the season with the best record in the league.

Of course none of this means anything. The regular season is over. Wins and Losses there don't mean anything.

When it's all over, whoever wins the Superbowl is the winner.. the others are all losers.

That being said, allow me to point out what happened the last time the 49ers were in Seattle.
Sun, Sep 15 Seattle vs San Francisco W29-3

Or the time prior to that.
Sun, Dec 23 Seattle vs San Francisco W42-13

Heh, you guys are so cute.

49ers could, ya know, lose to the PACKERS this weekend!

(emphasis on could, of course :))
