While I enjoyed that Superbowl, the NFC Championship Game was more personally gleeful. The tough talking Dallas Cowboys turned over the ball three times in the first few minutes creating a 21 point lead by the 49ers. It was football slapstick.

OK, as a long-time Seattle resident and 'Hawks fan, I'll finally put this rumor to right. While the "CLink" certainly has architectural advantages regarding noise, what makes it so loud is that the turf is actually a *living creature*. When athletes run on the surface with their cleats (and if you look closely, you'll notice that 'Hawks players' cleats are *just* a little longer), that creature screams. If you've ever been to the CLink when there isn't a game and run on the field, it's a haunting, scary noise. One day I expect "CLINKOR" to just swallow up opposing teams whole. Scary stuff. But now you know.

From an article about crowd noise at CLink field.

I'm calling 19-17 49ers on a last second field goal from Dawson. I blame the Seahawks lack of offensive production and playing the prevent defense near the end of the game.

Referees are giving Seattle the game.

Its going into the end zone at the last second. SF wins, 24-23.

Exactly!

Most egregious miscall by the refs was the fumble recovery that they gave to Seattle when it was obvious Bowman had it and held on to it, even with his injury.

Refs gave Seattle the game and that corner at the end is a real piece of ****. The simple fact that the strip/recovery on that injury play didn't end up with a 49er ball is one of the most ridiculous calls I've ever seen in the game.

The greatest game I've seen was yesterday's hockey game between the Sharks and Lightning. :)

So it's the Seattle PEDs vs the Denver Broncos.

Wow, that was stressful...

As a Seahaws fan.. I wish Sherman would tone it down a bit as well... especially in the media..

However, you cannot deny that he is the best corner in the NFL.

He had the most interceptions and most passes defended in the entire league, despite the fact that he was the least targetted corner in the league.

You can hate him all you want, but he backs up his mouth with his play on the field.

Hopefully he'll tone down the off field stuff a bit though.

/sigh

The "PEDs" thing was last year and it was freaking adderall. Thurmond and Browner got busted for marijuana this year.

You think Sherman was the only one trash talking? I guarantee you the 49ers were chirping the entire game until Kaepernick choked it away.

Meh. The fumble was a nonissue. The 49ers got the ball back on the next play.

the majority of the positive tests were substance abuse (pot, which is now legal in WA and CO btw), which is not a performance enhancer at all.

As Arafys noted, the positive tests from last year were for Adderal (not a steriod), which is commonly prescribed for ADHD.

Firstly, Bowman might have been the best defensive player on the field in that game, which considering those two teams, is saying something. Seeing him get injured like that was sad and painful to watch.

That said, as bad as the referee non-call was, it had no bearing on the outcome of the game, as the Seahawks fumbled on the next play, which was 4th down. SF ended up with the ball in better position than they would have had if the Bowman fumble had stood.

It was a very even game... the Niners played very well in a very hostile environment...

49ers lost the turnover battle. And they paid for it.
