And the Broncos are not better than 30 other teams. They were the best team in the AFC, which consists of 16 teams.

After what I saw tonight, I'm pretty sure there are a half dozen NFC teams that could have beat them in the Superbowl.

That's... not really how it works.

The Super Bowl, really the NFL in general, is about matchups "any given Sunday".

Would the Seahawks have beaten any opponent put in their path?

Maybe. It's certainly possible, as they were a great team.

But then again, maybe not.

The truth? We'll never know, and making a claim either way is silly.

What we do know: the Seahawks are the 2013-14 NFL Champions, and stand alone atop the mountain. That's more than good enough.

Enjoy the next few months, guys.

The new season is quickly upon us, and king of the hill is a tough game to win.

Wow...going into the game I thought the Seahawks would win, but...wow, what a beating. Really happy for those guys.

I love football and when I watch a Super Bowl I expect to see the best there is playing against each other. That didn't happen tonight.

For years, I stopped watching the Super Bowl, because so many of those games in the 80s were blowouts and just sucked. Only in the last few years, to me, has it been worth watching again.

1990, while I enjoyed it immensely, was a slightly worse showing. Elway promised a win in the Superbowl, talked serious trash, and was schooled to the point of absurdity. All in all it made Elway a better quarterback, he needed his rear handed to him then.

It also gave the 49ers their fourth Superbowl win. That was pretty sweet.

Congrats Hawks, game was absolutely awful to watch though. The Chargers would have put up more of a fight than Denver and, like already said, the NFC Championship was the real super bowl this year.

Yeah, I don't see where it was a bad game at all. A totally dominant defense showing the world that Yes Virginia, Defense DOES win Championships.

Most people like to see competition, there was zero. Seahawks steamrolled and probably could have gotten it done with a hand or two tied behind their backs.

This.

While it was likely a fun game for Hawks fans (who doesn't like to see their team win championship blowouts?), those of us with no skin in the game were bored with a lopsided yawner.

I'm strangely butthurt by Grantland running a cover story about some actor who killed himself with smack over the Seahawks amazing SB victory. SOME ACTOR DIED!!! OMG!!! Oh, and the Hawks won one. Whatever.

That is when the game ended. There was no coming back from that.

I'm so glad this game didn't come down to any drama. Bad refs, bad play calls, etc...

The media is left with nothing to talk about except the dominance that Seattle displayed. They completely manhandled the best team in the AFC, and held an NFL record setting offense (and first ballot Hall of Fame Quarterback) to 8 total points.

The dominated in all three phases, and scored points in every way possible in the biggest single game sporting event in history.

woohoo? :D

Russell killed it on Letterman tonight.

Some of the video is missing about 3/4 though, but you get the gist.

I think I'm going to invest in a Kam Chancellor jersey.

I love how this guy plays the game, and he has five years on his contract. :P

He isn't going to make it five years if he keeps going for a tackel head first. Hell, if he was four inches taller he would have gotten flagged for helmet to helmet.
