Have you guys heard of
Rockabye Baby? They're a group/company that makes lullaby music for babies (with your typical lullaby instruments), but in an awesome way.
I've got a playlist for my child that includes (but is not limited to):
- Journey
- Beatles
- Queen
- Guns 'n' Roses
- Weezer
- Prince
- Foo Fighters
- Depeche Mode
- Madonna
- Def Leppard
- U2
- Black Sabbath
- Pink Floyd
- Smashing Pumpkins
- The Police
- Rush
- Nirvana
- Van Halen
- Green Day
- Flaming Lips (Seriously! Flaming Lips!)
- Pixies
- Blur
- Silverchair
They even have stuff for Nine Inch Nails and Metallica, though I personally think they don't quite fit as lullaby songs (maybe if they had changed the keys they are in?). But overall it's very cool! And they are quite creative with their mixes. For instance,
"Song 2" by Blur? The "Woo hoo's" are replaced by a fun and subdued slide whistle. The same slide whistle is used in the opening of
Runnin' With the Devil and for Eddie's pick slides.
Between this and some good celtic lullabies, my infant is going to hopefully grow up with some good taste in music!
