So, I made this:

It's awesome. This thing has made the game more fun for me; it blasts through mining so fast that it's hard for me to keep up with it.

My keep is coming along, but still a ways to go. I'm on Serenity, Knob island, west of the spire, near the edge of the zone. Claim is called Jager's Keep.

I got side-tracked making a mural for my basement...

edit: adding map shot of keep in progress. mainly the outer shell is done, except for the middle & central tower. Nothing really done on interior yet.

Been building anything cool, guys? I am about ready to delete my claim and start over, my hollowed out tree is not progressing as I'd hoped and I kind of want to try other kinds of structures before the alpha wipe happens and I lose all my resources.

Some cool stuff at http://eqnbuilder.com/

I finally came up with an idea for a nifty monument kind of thing. Now I just need some time to finish out the harvesting for it and figure out how to build it.

Essentially, it's going to be a pedastal with a big cube balanced/mounted on its corner, with each face a different color/material.

If I like how it turns out, and can figure out how to do the corners cleanly, I may also do a Rubik's Cube like that, with one face partially rotated. Because I'm a nerd.

Mostly, I feel like that'll be an interesting exercise in experimenting with the build tools, and the Rubik's Cube might give me an opportunity to test the power of the template system -- if it can do what I'm thinking of, going from cube to Rubik's Cube will be trivial.

I'm also thinking that doing a sun dial at some point could be a lot of fun.

I'm still working on my keep, but I lost a little steam this week. I made some things pretty complicated, but I have learned some good things about the tools.

I will but some work into it tonight and put up some pictures.

Has anyone found the Line tool to be useful? It seems very inconsistant between making smooth diagonals vs. jagged looking sawtooth messes.

Yeah, extremely. You just have to get the sizing and alignment right after a lot of Ctrl+Z's. YouTube comes in real handy for some of that.

Where are you hosting your pics? I can't see them from work.

Hmm, they are in my public folder of dropbox.

Let me see if this works; I put them on OneDrive (haven't mess with it before): link

2/26 patch notes said that next week we'll be getting the two new biomes (snow/jungle) and that claim permissions / attached claims will finally be reinstated. Anybody wanna get a group build going?

FYI pretty sure there is going to be a wipe when the new biomes get added so... if you wanna do anything, use it or lose it before next week.

Dexella has clarified and said that there isn't going to be a wipe when they add the new biomes - but they're only going to be available on the new islands for now. I'm still going to uproot my claim and try to get some new land, though.

Found a nice shady glade west of the spire in Liberation > Gully. That'll do, for now, at least. Bedtime.

Yeah, I may need to brush up a bit. Haven't logged on in a couple of weeks thanks to other games. All of the updates look good though and I wanna get back into it.

Updated roadmap:

Closed Beta
-Caves and Static Water coming together. Claims will be wiped.
-All continents have all resources, but higher tier ones will be deep underground.
-Universal name+account being implemented.
-Health/Death/Graveyards/Revives
-Armor/Buffs
-PvE/PvP
-Crafting 2.0: Salvages, Imbueing, Upgrading, Refinements. Crafting recipes will need to be discovered/unlocked.
-Treasure Chests

After Open Beta
-AI Editor/Monster Creator
-Dungeon Master tools ie- scenario layout, story arcs
-Interaction Physics for things you've made (like traps?)
-PVP Rules Creation

Ditto on the brush up/been doing other stuff.

I'm Kyvvas in-game. Gonna have to figure out how friends listing works here. ;)

I think I am going to have a personal claim on some Tundra land but I will definitely join one or two other claims with you if we wanna get a megaclaim going.

What do you wanna build?

I'm open to suggestions. One of the reasons the group build appeals to me.

I'm down with Tundra, too. Gully is Tundra/Old Forest T3, that's why I picked it.

Winner winner chicken dinner.

I like the idea of recreating EQ1 things or creating an homage to something. Plane of Fear entrance in Old Jungle? Barbarian towers in the tundra? Miragul cave under a frozen river?

Ooh. Building something Halasian would be a lot of fun. I like the notion of Plane of Fear entrance, too.
