Not that I expect much disagreement with the sentiment here, but Hellfired for the snark.

It's really easy to prove someone thinks a certain way when you do so by declaring it by fiat in a cartoon and playing to the sentiments of people that already agree.

Well intention-ed people of non-faith are not less annoying.

That, plus on pretty much any other forum this would be pointless trolling.

I disagree. A well intentioned person of non-faith brings me coffee. A well intentioned person of faith brings me the **** Watchtower magazine.

I don't think you can actually deduce the intentions of the person who brings you coffee. It may be because you paid them for the coffee, or maybe they just want to have sex with you.

Knowing Taly, she likely considers wanting to have sex with her a good intention.

Intolerance on the left seems to express itself mainly through incessant individual or group-based *****. Intolerance on the right seems to express itself mainly through actively attempting to create laws enshrining said intolerance.

I'll take the former.

Side note, I debated putting "intolerance" in quotation marks. I'm not sure there's not a false equivocacy in claiming it's intolerant to not tolerant intolerance.

Aw, great. Now I've hit semantic satiation of "tolerance". Spell-check, don't let me down.

It is trolling. It's over simplifying a complicated issue to poke fun at a group of people. It's not a clever way to highlight a problem from both viewpoints, and it misrepresents the "intentions" of probably a majority of Christians.

While it's true that Christians believe, in general, that they should reach out to help those who are going astray, very very few (from what I have seen) are interested in saving others through discrimination. Instead, they are interested in making sure they are not forced to support behavior they disagree with, and they are interested in shaping their environment they want it to be. The former is understandable, and the latter is exactly what folks on the other side are doing as well.

Anyway, crap like this is trolling and a simpleton's view of a complicated relationship.

This. Also, I have yet to see a non-believer go door to door and try and enlighten anyone.

Right, non-believers won't go door to door. You seem to think that belief is restricted to religion, though, and I'm not sure how you have come to that conclusion.

I don't take the comic as purporting to represent a majority of Christians, merely a particular subset - i.e., the NOM-style bigots who really do tend to wrap their deep antipathy to and substantive discrimination against homosexuals with throat-clearing b.s. about Christian love and who act all offended and oppressed when people judge them on that substance rather than the insincere packaging.

The entire context of this thread is religion. If you actually follow the flow of my comments you will see that we're talking about people of faith vs. non-believers. This is a commonly used term and frankly should be crystal clear and understandable by anyone who isn't trying to be an *** and "win the intarwebs".

And yes, I know this is the glade and Hellfire. Not saying I expected any different, just tired of smart people being retarded because they have a nit to pick.
