As far as I know the LGBT community is apparently against picketing his funeral. Not fighting hatred with more hatred or something to that effect.

It's nice to see they have more class than he did.

I don't see how that's relevant.

You have to figure that after a decade of protesting the funerals of soldiers, firefighters, and police officers, the Phelps weren't going to be getting the very best security our nation's finest have to offer. Moreover, their antics made enemies of just about every veteran in the country, some of whom are members of biker gangs.

It's all fun and games until the Hell's Angels show up.

Seriously, though, what a strange man. Fought hard for civil rights in the '60s, only to succumb to what I can only describe as insanity later in life.

I don't take pleasure in anyone's death, but that doesn't mean that I have to miss him. I'm glad his particular brand of hatred is no longer being sown, and that's pretty much the end of my feelings toward him.

Not sure if his ideas will die with him. He had followers, but I don't think many.
