If it had been Barack instead of Michelle, I would have guessed some sort of political commentary about RINOs (Republicans In Name Only) being led around on a leash or, alternatively, dragging Obama along. Given that it's Michelle, though, I'll go with "because the Onion is staffed with a bunch of weirdos".
