I'm constantly drafting multi-item lists in the negative for work, so this is a recurring pain in my butt.

Used before the second or further of two or more alternatives (the first being introduced by a negative such as “neither” or “not”) to indicate that they are each untrue or each do not happen: they were neither cheap nor convenient | the sheets were never washed, nor the towels, nor his shirts.

I'm getting a little verklempt. Talk amongst yourselves. I'll give you a topic. The Holy Roman Empire was neither Holy, nor Roman, nor an Empire. Discuss.

I've always done Neither x,y, nor z. I don't think you need the nor every time (same as Either... or). None of x,y, or z is fine too, as "of x,y, or x" is a grammatically correct preposition attached to the word none.

I'd word it differently depending upon the situation. Perhaps: X, y, and z do not work in this instance.

<Neither x, nor, y, nor z> cannot be misunderstood.

So, if it's important....
