Ok, standard-autumnal-invasion-of-ladybugs: you plunked one of the doomed adorabeetles down into my coffee. Now it's personal.

I was informed, very seriously, by one of my friends that I should not refer to them as ladybugs. They're apparently Japanese Gross-beetles, which look like ladybugs, but aren't.

So many ellipses, so little time...

GOOMH. They were very earnest, and another of my friends backed her up, so I didn't point out that Ladybugs ARE beetles.

Pain sharpens your awareness and keeps you alive. Pleasure dulls your senses and can kill you with your acquiessence. Both seem to have their problems.

Naked south Florida man shot and killed for biting people's faces.

Sorry, that should read another naked south Florida man shot and killed for biting people's faces. Stupid zombie outbreak. Guess this is the tradeoff we get for not having cold weather.

My plane to Amsterdam is full of Asian school girls. Does this mean I get eaten by Godzilla or tentacle raped?

The monster will have tentacles. You'll be eaten, they'll be raped.

Ran some Star Wars for some local folks a couple of weekends back. One of the Jedi had a rather "intimate" run in with a certain revisited aspiring Dark Lady of the Sith. Best part is, I didn't even plan it to go that way. I think everyone was rather amused when her true nature was revealed. I hope I get to play more this weekend.

Yeah, it's utter crap.

Not as bad as Miami, though. Sheesh.

I spent an hour today reading about HOA horror stories....I think someone would make a lot of money making an interesting movie around those stories.

Confession time,

Okay. I'm a serious sucker for those Soldiers Surprising Kids/Spouses/etc videos. Gets me every time. I love watching the look on people's faces when they see someone they missed for so long, the pure unadulterated joy. The only time I can remember feeling that myself was when my mother showed up at the hospital to surprise us the day my daughter was to be delivered.

If you bake the cookie dough chunks from chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream, are the resulting cookies any good?

Of all the life lessons I've learned, "Don't plug the waterbed heater into a switched outlet" is probably the most memorable (and funniest).

Interacting with someone who could be the twin-sister of an old flame is oddly uncomfortable.

My silly little E-book came out two years ago. Had more than a few people ask if it would ever be in print. So I got off my *** and started to put it together. I got my proof copy today. I got weirdly emotional holding it for the first time. Like, it wasn't a real thing until now.

I want to see a Transformers and Terminator mash up. The Transformers will return to earth after an extented deep space mission. Only when they get here, mankind has been nearly elimnated. What follows will be a three hour epic of robot on robot violence. No time travel, just straight robots ganking other robots.
