In this instance, that's true. However, from what little I've read, he has a long history of being racist in the management of his team (e.g., hiring decisions re coaches, comments to/about players, etc.) and in his other business ventures (e.g., he's been dinged before for illegal housing discrimination at his rental properties). I wouldn't have any problem with him being dinged for discriminatory actions in his capacity as an employer or landlord, so really, he probably should have been booted from the NBA years ago for the work-related ****. Getting booted now because of a private conversation with his girlfriend, though, is stupid.

Still doesn't justify his loss of privacy. I hope he has a case against TMZ.

What was done is either wrong, or it exemplifies "the ends justify the means". That only works out when one agrees with the "ends", otherwise, not so much.

Not necessarily. It's possible to condemn both the violation of privacy and the racism it revealed. You don't have to give the latter a pass just because you disapprove of the former.

I agree it doesn't justify the loss of privacy, but I'm not sure I agree that he should have a legal right to prevent another person from recording and distributing his conversations with that other person. After all, it's her conversation too. If you and I exchange emails, and I forward it to someone else without asking permission first, should you be able to sue me? Third party eavesdropping is a different thing entirely, of course. I'm just talking about someone who is a participant in a conversation or correspondence.

In Ca, I think, yes. Some states, as long as one party consents, its legal.

He may have a case against TMZ or against his ex wife or whatever, but he holds no water in the court of public opinion. What's done is done.

;)

And its likely not slanderous, because its true. He really is a bigoted *******, so the slander/libel laws don't apply.

That would have to be prosecuted by the LAPD. Or whichever agency has jurisdiction.

I hear ya man. I worry that I'm going to screw up on one of these:

I HEARD he knew he was being recorded. I also HEARD he requested that he be recorded. Not sure that's true, or makes any sense, but... yeah.
