You a big schadenfreude fan Monte?

At least they split amicably and mutually, and didn't pursue a lifetime of agony and misery, trying to stay together just because they were married. Better yet, he didn't go off and make a huge scandal for her to be shamed by, they got divorced. Big Whoopee, it happens.

Divorce doesn't mean anything is wrong with marriage in general, nor does it mean those dead set against gay marriage don't have marital problems in their lives.

Really, that is fairly petty of you.

Karl Rove is a champion of marriage values?

Maybe he is a defender of marriage values in the way Monte keeps finding "rising republican stars" that we don't know off. I do not remember him being a major defender. Slimy political shill, and general worm, but not a defender of marriage.

Hmm, wonder if any large global warming/enviromentalist/green effort types use private jets?

Undoubtedly such paragons of morality would buy carbon credits to offset their inefficiencies.

Karl Rove may very well be the slimiest snake to grace the political front in decades, but everyone has known that from the start, even Bush's biggest fans. He's a political strategist...his job was to help an utter moron win the game of "Who's the biggest most devious, cunning and corrupt ******* in the country," also known as the presidential elections. He performed his job flawlessly.

Attributing him with added hypocrisy is like pouring water into the ocean.

Obviously, what we need are infidelity credits, where people can pay others to stay in marriage when they are adulterous or seperate for any reason whatsoever.

My guess is the PGA is going to have to pay Tiger more since he's going to need a bunch.

Hell let's just go back to selling indulgences.

Seconded. Since when has Karl Rove been a poster boy for marriage values?

For them's that need it, yes. Karl Rove is definitely one of those people. He's got the blood of countless thousands on his grubby little paws, in addition to some seriously slimy moves over the course of his political career. I kind of hope some sort of affair comes out as well. I'd like to seem him pilloried in the public square. It's not nearly enough justice for the scum bag, but it would be a start.

Oooh...maybe she'll take him for all he's worth.

Is it petty? I don't know. Ask John McCain about the pamphlets Rove had spread in the south during the 2000 primaries accusing him of having an interracial love child. Or, you could ask John Kerry about the false attacks on his service record. Perhaps you could ask the families of the people blown up in our needless invasion of Iraq? Or how about the lives lost in our misadventures in Afghanistan during the Bush administration? You know, we could also ask the people ill affected by the abstinence only policies his administration put out into the public. Ooh! Ooh! you could talk about torture, and his dogged, unyielding support for it's use.

Yes, I am a huge schadenfreude fan when it comes to Karl Rove. He deserves a great deal more justice than his divorce in his life. I doubt it will ever really come, though. Ultimately, though, he used "family values" and "traditional marriage" arguments to oppose equality for same sex couples. Clearly, Rove never really believed in the sanctity of marriage, or his vows. Not that Im surprised, but those that looked up to him for those reasons might want to reconsider their choices.

Schadenfreude can be fun, but too much is a gross kind of mental masturbation.
