I don't think unforseen technological problems in a new and advanced system indicate that it will never be finished. If that were the case we'd have given up back when we were trying to make steam power work.

For a full release, no. It sounds like they will be spinning up fighting very soon though. So single player will be a full six month delay on the multiplayer promise.

But, delivering that with way more progress on the server backend, better netcode, and an entirely new (and gorgeous) rendering path implemented.

I'm interested to see how fast mission design on Sq. 42 goes. At the rate things seem to be progressing, I suspect it'll be capital ships that will be bottlenecking Squadron 42 episodes.

So what's the over under that it's not May 29th (for single player no less) like they are now saying? It's all good. I've plenty to keep me busy until then.

I think two weeks if close enough for them to have a good handle on what is left to do. Considering I was guessing the 28th on my own, I don't expect more slip than maybe missing the weekend.

How crash-happy the multiplayer is for those who they roll it out to, though... ;) That's where I expect things to go wrong.

It's an alpha, such is to be expected. I'm just happy they decided to roll out single player to everyone at once to lessen the blow of the delay. Furthermore I'm happy that we will be moving on to other, more important things.

Oh, neat. Somebody got permission to use some images and information from last month's Jump Point article about HUD design and has made an introduction video to Star Citizen HUDs.



I disagree with him on a few minor points, and he does a little bit of speculating, but it covers the information given in the JP article pretty well. If you're bored and want to be a bit better prepared for next week, it's worth a watch.
