The playsets have actual games behind them, akin to "Lego Indiana Jones" and stuff like them. However, the "Toybox Mode" was sorely lacking. The developers are trying to correct that with Infinity 2.0.

I wasn't a fan of DI 1.0, but the actual games that they introduced in 2.0 and especially 3.0 were fantastic. Unfortunately, Disney just announced that they're killing not only Infinity, but their entire games publishing division.

Apparently they're still releasing the planned three Alice Through the Looking Glass and Finding Dory figures, and then that's it. No word yet on how they'll handle the server aspects of the game.
