Ehn, there's no reason to think Kojima is gonna make it Silent Nano-Machines Hill. He's not a bad game maker, I just find his stories to be totally dumb. MGS is still fun technically.

I'd rather they make a whole other franchise though, SH needs to just die off, but the brand still has value I suppose...

I'll just hope for the best. Daryl is in it.

Well, that dream is dead. Looks like the Konami/Kojima battle has claimed a high-profile victim: per Guillermo del Toro this weekend, "[Silent Hills] is not going to happen." Shame. P.T. was amazing (and it's being pulled on April 29th, so snag it while you can).
