*sigh* When did the old adage "Question all definitions, Deny all terms" become our modus operandi for argument?

In like 2005. It's been an arms race to see who can do more of it ever since.

1) Google is always right!
2) less effort to get to it from a search, making it the first definition I see from a reputable source.

A Google search can be a shaky proposition for inquiring information about certain topics. The definition of English words is not one of those topics.

Nor does it somehow override other resources for doing the same thing just because it's a google search. If different sources are giving variations on the use of a particular word, that's a pretty good indication that the use of the word is not particularly absolute.
