As long as they keep a voiced protagonist, I don't care if you can choose different races.
This X100. You really don't know how much it adds to the game until you go back to an older game without it.
yeah, it's very hard to play DA:O after DA2 and the mass effect series. All protagonists should be voiced.

That's fine. Darkspawn are only a major threat during the Blight anyway. Dragon Age 2 had some Darkspawn, but they were only a primary antagonist during one of the DLCs. I'm sure they will have a similar role in DA:I

Why is no one talking about this game now? Is it because we are all playing it?
I'm loving it so far. It took a while to really get going. I was SO glad to finally get out of the Hinterlands. But it's really picked up quite a lot of steam since the major story event at Haven. Which was like, OMG, so awesome!
Some thoughts: - Knight Enchanter is almost game-breakingly OP. Hella fun, but really ridiculous - Iron Bull is frakin' amazing - It's really pretty, and huge! No small, reused environments here, like DA2 - All of the characters are actually interesting to talk to - Party banter is always entertaining - Varric is once again awesome - AND...
Spoiler:
RIP Hawke I felt so bad for Varric after this happened. He was like, "Where's Hawke?" and my heart just broke. Gaaahhh.
Kudos to Bioware for the amazing job they've done at fleshing out these characters, and making them feel so real, and making them, well....human.
There's still a few things that bug me. A few minor nitpicks, here and there. Like the aforementioned slowness of the story, starting out. It really didn't grab a hold of me until that event that I mentioned above. And after that, it's been a helluva ride!
What are everyone else's thoughts on the game so far?

Apparently this is not much of a spoiler, as it's something that can happen, but is not necessarily true. It's a Virmire situation again... In fact, depending on your choices in DA:O, the final decision can be quite the easy one.

Yea. On my next playthrough, I'm definitely offering up someone else to the sacrificial spider.

My wife just convinced me to buy this on PS4 because, in her words, "The people look pretty and there's dragons and ****."
Anything a first time player can really screw up or miss? Or should I just do whatever I want.
Yes. Trying to complete a zone without making trips back to your base is a bad idea. You need to be getting back to the war table to put your trio to work. When you find a new camp, just head back and queue up some missions, sell, and then fast-travel right back to that camp. Otherwise, Cullen will spend all day on trebuchets and calibrations.
Go Vanguard for your tank first. Prioritize skills that build Guard.
At the war table, choose mages rather than templars for the more compelling story.
At level 12 or 13, killing dragons becomes possible. Start with the one in Hinterlands.
